They are full of character and in some instances, a bit quirky as is often characteristic of Victorian era rooms. As a point of history, we should perhaps explain, that you stayed in the original 1901 part of the inn, and that room #2 is one of eight original bedrooms. Approximately 35 years ago, the property was converted from a private residence to an inn, and the owners at the time retained an architect to turn the bedrooms into hospitality rooms with private baths. The mandate was to preserve the space of the bedrooms to the greatest degree possible. The architect fulfilled the mandate perfectly, giving each bedroom its own private bath without impinging unduly on the space of the bedrooms, but it does mean that some of the original bedrooms have baths on the smaller side. For those guests who require a large bath, we recommend the newer king rooms at the garden side of the inn, which were built from scratch with hospitality in mind, and which provide spacious, full baths with jetted whirlpool tubs.
