We could have overlooked the myriad of little things that were wrong with this property, like: broken windows, no screens on some windows, no blinds in one of the bedrooms, broken microwave taking up space in the kitchen, shaggy landscaping, no rope in the pool to delineate the deep from the shallow end, dog crap in the yard that we had to pick up and more…but the most dangerous thing was a heavy rain one one night mid-week that caused one of the basement windows to leak very badly all over beds/bedding and the floor of that “bedroom”. And THAT wouldn’t have been SO bad, but there were power strips on that wet floor. And some of our children were bunking down there. Had they stepped out of their beds in bare feet and any of those power strips had been under water, this property owner would have had a lot more to worry about in this review besides things that were broken or less than wonderful during our stay. Furthermore, WE had to clean up the rainwater coming in (cleanup crew didn’t arrive until the next day). What’s worse, the property owner seemed unfazed by our concern about this potential electrocution scenario and even though WE paid top dollar for this joint and WE were inconvenienced on a family vacation that people have worked hard to fit into their busy lives, we didn’t receive any compensation for our trouble. Too bad. Had the owner been a little more honest with us and in his property listing, we might have considered returning in the future. Not now, not ever.
