Lakeside cabin on the Central Oregon Coast

Escape to the beautiful Oregon coast, enjoying the calm waters of Collard Lake. Charming lakeside cabin has 2 decks from which to lounge and take in the magnificent lake view. Enjoy the dock and paddle the kayaks or canoe on this spring-fed lake. Watercraft, paddles and life jackets are provided. The comfortable cabin, located in a quiet area of large fir trees, includes a full well-equipped kitchen, large screen TV with Roku, and wireless internet service. Enjoy music from Pandora or Spotify on the bluetooth/CD compact shelf system. The bedroom includes a comfortable queen bed. There is a double futon sofa bed in the TV room and a double sofa bed in the living room.

Heron's Hideaway comfortably sleeps 4, but could sleep 6 with the use of futon bed, sofa bed and the queen bed. Washer and dryer available. On cooler days, enjoy the pellet stove in the living room as you enjoy the lake view or curl up with a good book. Or watch a movie on Roku on the big screen in the TV room. Each level has a bathroom with a shower in one and tub/shower in the other.

The beautiful Oregon coast is a short 6 mile drive from Heron's Hideaway. Enjoy dining and shopping in the quaint town of Florence which is about 8 miles away. Heron's Hideaway is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, good for strolling and taking in the local scenery. Dog owners note that property is not fenced, but surrounded by woods.

Parking notes: Steep driveway. There are 2 carports. The upper carport is appropriate for any size vehicles, but the carport closer to house is lower and may not accommodate larger cars. There is also an uncovered parking space in front of house and OK to park in gravel area at the top of driveway.

Older children are welcome, but this property may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.

We had such a wonderful romantic getaway celebrating both Thanksgiving and my wife’s birthday weekend. I booked this cabin a couple of months ago, and by the time we arrived, I had forgotten most of the photos—except the lake one—so walking in felt like a pleasant surprise!As former Alaska residents, this cozy cabin brought back memories of the places we used to rent back home, which made our stay even more special. Since we celebrated Thanksgiving here, we were extra grateful that the kitchen had everything we needed to make our meal.The booking process and communication with the host were incredibly easy, which helped our trip start off on the right foot. The cabin was in wonderful condition, and we felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. It was a peaceful, cozy stay—we appreciated every detail.Our furry babies absolutely loved exploring the outdoors and enjoying all the freedom. This was our second stay at Heron’s Hideway. The location is wonderful on a peaceful, beautiful lake and yet close to Florence a charming town with good shopping and many great restaurants. We were met with a vase of flowers on the kitchen counter. The home was very clean and lots of essentials were included (spices, sugar, condiments, tea, soap, shampoo) Instruction sheet on counter was complete and helpful. We were a little surprised at the lack of privacy between the two sleeping areas. Probably my own fault for not reading all the reviews. The driveway is very steep and might be difficult to navigate parking wise, with a large vehicle. The bed was very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Wonderful Lake Stay

We loved staying at Heron's Hideaway! The cabin was perfect for three adults and our water-loving dog. We paddled around the lake in the canoes and kayaks, swam off the floating dock, watched birds, read books on the sunny deck overlooking the lake, cooked in the well-equipped kitchen (love a rental that comes with a salad spinner!), played cards, and did a 500 piece puzzle. So relaxing! The cabin was clean and tidy, with helpful labels on things so that we could find things easily and know how things worked. Joan's special touches like fresh flower bouquets, guest slippers and robes, and a little basket of tasty snacks and assorted teas were delightful. Highly recommend!

Everything about the stay was perfect including the cabin and local opportunities to explore.
