A wonderful stay!
We could not fault our stay at Louisa and Gerard's gite. The gite is the best we have stayed in, with a wonderful balcony overlooking a beautiful garden. It is in such a lovely area, we could hardly believe we were so close to Paris, so we had the best of both worlds - the city and the rolling countryside. We were met with such warm friendliness. We didn't want to leave and hope we'll be able to go back to go back to see Louisa and Gerard sometime.

Endroit parfait et tranquille
Des le debut Gerard et Louisa ont ete exceptionnel. La maison est vraiment belle. Meme si c'est un vieille construction, l'interieur est moderne et propre. Toutes les choses necessaires sont la. A 5 minutes d'auto des marches d'alimentation. Proche de Rouen et Paris. Nous y retournerons sans doute quand on reviens vers Paris

Sehr empfehlenswert
Die liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung und ein gemütlicher Garten machten unseren Aufenthalt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Die Wohnung hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen und wir haben die Ruhe in dem idyllischen Dorf genossen. Herr und Frau Gerard waren unglaublich nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber.
Wir waren während der Olympischen Spiele zu Gast und sind daher häufig nach Paris gefahren, was kein Problem war. Auch ein Ausflug ans Meer war mit dem Auto in weniger als einer Stunde möglich.
Wir können die Wohnung uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und würden uns freuen, wenn wir wieder einmal zu Gast bei der Familie Gerard sein dürfen.

Das Ferienhaus ist ein Altbau im Hinterhaus, so dass man zunächst ein Hoftor öffnen und über den Hof gehen muss, um an die Tür zu kommen. Dort enge und steile Treppe in die Küche mit Essplatz. Von dort weitere Treppe nach oben ins Wohnzimmer, von dort geht die Tür in Schlafzmmer mit Bad. Man muss also gut zu Fuß sein. Küche ist sehr gut eingerichtet, Gastgeber sehr freundlich. Als es kalt wurde und die Heizung noch nicht lief, brachte er Radiator. Beschreibung insofern falsch, dass keine Abstellmöglichkeit für PKW besteht! Zum Aus- und Einladen kann man kurz auf der sehr engen Straße halten, dann Parkplatz ca. 50 m entfernt an der Straße.

Nice place, highly recommend and I'd stay again
Very nice place with a private back yard (front area is shared with the host). Very nice host, he was responsive to any questions we had. Has everything you'd expect, well appointed. Personally I loved the town, made for some nice walks / runs. From what we found, you will need to drive to a nearby town to get just about anything (aka, bread) but that wasn't a problem. Stayed with my wife and 23yo daughter. There are some reasonably narrow steps in the rental. My wife had a knee replacement done about 9 month ago and she was ok, but there are steps you will need to navigate daily between the bottom and the kitchen, then the kitchen and the bedroom / living room.
I have friends and family in the area and I will definitely stay here again.

The Fournil gite is a lovely getaway in the Northern part of France. It's location works as a great base to feel you are out in the peace and tranquillity, but still with easy access by car to some key attractions - Paris (40 mins), Versailles (35 mins), Monet's Garden (25 mins), Rouen (45 mins). The gite itself has some lovely features, but a couple of points to be aware of. i/ A gorgeous terrace just off the main lounge, per pictures is ideal for enjoying a relaxing drink or even your early morning coffee & croissantsii/ lots of garden space, with covered dining area and loungers.. the pictures show the garden at it's best. Some of the furniture and the garden are not quite as polished as they look in the pictures anymoreii/ The same goes for the entrance courtyard which in the pictures looks quite polished but in reality has more of a rustic charm at presentiii/ There is no car parking directly at the property, but there are readily available spaces no more than 2-3 mins walk from the front gate and you can easily park to drop off luggage etc before moving thereiv/ The main bedroom is spacious and comfortable with a well fitted ensuitev/ The second bedroom is on the top floor which gets hot and stuffy. The property does have an aircon unit, but for the lounge only. Also the bed can only be accessed from one sidevi/ Finally be aware of the stairs, there are 4 levels and the stairs are steep, so consider if you are unstable on your feet. Overall enjoyed :)

Ruhe und Entspannung
Wir waren 1 Woche da, wurden herzlich empfangen und genossen die Ruhe. Der Gastgeber war zuvorkommend und bei Fragen immer behilflich.
Ein gepflegtes Haus, es hat an nichts gefehlt.
2 getrennte Bäder, Gästetoilette, komplett ausgestattete Küche. Ein Garten mit 2 Terassen zur freihen Verfügung.
Viel Natur und Ruhe rundherum. Nahegelegene Ausflugsziele sowie Nähe zur Metropole Paris mit unendlich vielen Möglichkeiten.

Tolle Unterkunft
Die Unterkunft entspricht in allen Bereichen den Beschreibungen, ist mit allen notwendigen Dingen ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Die Vermieter sind nett und unkompliziert, dabei hilfsbereit und mit Tipps zu Unternehmungen zur Stelle, wenn es erwünscht ist; ansonsten halten sie sich eher im Hintergrund. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Stadtausflüge nach Paris (am besten per Bahn) oder in die nähere Umgebung (Tal der Impressionisten). Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen!

Ruhe und Erholung in der Nähe von Paris
Wir haben die Ferienwohnung genutzt um Paris und die Umgebung zu besuchen. Nach den Besuchen im quirligen Paris ein Ort der Entspannung und Ruhe.
Wir sind herzlich aufgenommen worden und haben uns gut mit dem gastfreundlichen Vermieter unterhalten können. Im Kühlschrank stand eine Flasche Cidre für uns, es gab Äpfel aus dem eigenen Garten und auch andere Kleinigkeiten wie Gewürze, Shampoo, o.ä. waren vorhanden.
Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt, es hat nichts gefehlt. Sie ist sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich renoviert worden und sehr sauber.
Wir kommen gerne wieder.
Empfehlung für Paris Besucher:
- Mit dem Auto zum Bahnhof "Mantes-la-jolie" fahren und dort im Parkhaus abstellen.
- Am Bahnhof sofort das Familienticket für Zug, Bus, Metro, Funiculaire kaufen, ca. 18,-€/Person/Tag.
- Die Zuglinie endet im Gare St. Lazare, wo man in Bus und Metro umsteigen kann.
Vielen Dank für den angenehmen Aufenthalt.

Fijn verblijf
We verbleven een week in dit vakantiehuis. Met de wagen is het een goeie uitvalsbasis om verschillende bezienswaardigheden in Frankrijk te verkennen. Het huisje zelf is heel net en biedt zowat alle comfort die je kan verwachten. Bij hele warme dagen is er een mobiele airco ter beschikking. We herinneren ons ook een heel hartelijke gastheer die ons, net zoals zijn vrouw, goed heeft ontvangen en die we gedurende de week ook regelmatig hebben gezien en gesproken (ze wonen op dezelfde site). We zouden deze locatie dus zeker aanbevelen.

Small but everything you need.
After inquiring, the friendly hosts arranged a third bed. This allowed us to stay comfortably in the house, which is small but bigger as advertised.
Quiet village, lovely surroundings. Private garden and a lovely terrace. Kitchen is very small, but has everything you need. Two toilets (one in bathroom with shower) , separate bathroom, nice bedroom next to the living room with the 'kids room' situated above the kitchen. Great little mansion, friendly hosts. Highly recommended.

Beautiful property, garden and veranda. Property was lovely and clean with everything we needed available. Hosts are very friendly and hospitable. As it was easter the host had even created an egg hunt in the garden which our kids enjoyed when they arrived! The location was good for access to Paris (1 hr drive) and Disneyland Paris (1.5 hrs drive) which was main purpose of our trip. As a bonus we discovered that it is also just 25 mins drive from Monet’s house and garden which was very much enjoyed on one of our more relaxing days. To round off a great week we accepted the host’s kind invitation to the local village Friday night social and the kids tried snail and the adults
practised their pigeon French! Thank you to Gerard and Louisa for going out of your way to being so hospitable!

Great place with a great host
We stayed at the cottage for 5 days, since our arrival Gerard was an amazing host, making sure everything was clear and we were feeling at home.
Gave a lot of attention to how we should take care with the kids, also making sure they’d have fun.
I definitely recommend the place. It’s spacious and cozy.

Herbsturlaub mit der Familie im Tal der Impressionisten
Wir hatten eine sehr schöne und erholsame Woche!
Die Ferienwohnung war in einem sehr guten Zustand und Ausstattung, die Vermieter sehr gastfreundlich und
hilfsbereit.
Es gibt in der Nähe viel zu unternehmen, wir waren z.B. in Versailles, Giverny, Les Andelys,...

propre, confortable et très sympa
La maison est très belle et tellement propre.
Tout est fourni, comme promis.
Assez de place pour une famille avec 3 enfants.
Le jardin est très agreable pour se réposer, manger et pour les enfants pour jouer.
les propriétaires habitent juste à côté et sont toujours disponible pour vous si nécessaire.
ils sont surtout très sympathiques et aussi très amicaux avec les enfants. Ils ont fait de leur mieux même si nos enfants ne parlaient ni Français ni Anglais.
Le village est très pittoresque.
A 5 à 10 minutes en voiture il y a quelques grands magasins où vous pourrez faire vos courses.
Il y a beaucoup à faire et visiter dans la région:
France Miniature, Versailles, Paris, Giverny(Jardins de Monet), Thoiry Safari&Zoo, Les Andelys, Evreux, Rouen,..
En bref,
nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances.

We are a mixed group of tourists from several places in Europe, none of us spoke excellent french, who were there for a short stay of 8 days.
To know, the hosts live on-site in their own little cottage. This meant that when we arrived from our late flight at around 22:30, he was there and waiting for us to check in, which was a welcome relief.
The hosts Gerard and his wife are lovely, and extremely hospitable. They were welcoming to their home and showed us everything we needed to know for a lovely stay.
The house is much bigger than we expected. There are two good-size bedrooms and a lounge, which has two sofabeds. with an upstairs and downstairs WC, which caters well for a mixed group. There is a kitchen, induction hobs and various items of cookware and crockery, in addition to some other cooking necessities which happily did the job, and a balcony and a gazebo for outside dining.
Other quirks include a log fire, which we didn't really use given the 35+c temperatures(!) and a lovely plum tree, which we did use. Lots.
Overall, highly recommended, and will probably come again.
