the place at 2185 st;john river rd in fort kent maine is a scam .... we drove up 135 miles rite to the address found a bunch of old abandon buildings I took a video of the place will be letting credit card co deal with it scam scam

Hotel Abandoned

This hotel was no longer operational. It looks like it was abandoned quite some time ago. I was still charged for my stay, despite there being no hotel, and am currently fighting to get my money back.

Terrible experience. Reported to expedia and will report to the state. This is a scam, property refused to refund after they told expedia we showed up after they close. So they close at 3, exactly an hour after check-in? Ok, that makes sense....scam scam scam. Property is absolute garbage, electricity not even connected. State has deemed the property uninhabitable.

Do not stay here

The hotel is down a long unplowed road so was not able to get to the hotel because of the deep snow. Tried calling multiple times and no answer. Ended up stranded because nothing from the hotel said it is snowmobile access only. Still got charged for a hotel that we were not able to get to. Would not recommend for anyone traveling to the area.

We never completed checkin. The photos are not of the current property. They one had one room in any condition to be used, and it was not comparable to the photos listed. The manager was new, and helpful, and did issue a refund.

Stephen King Setting

Motel looked abandoned. No signage on road. No on-site check-in. Had to call a rude out-of-state person for check in procedure. This motel is not in Fort Kent, it's in Saint John Parish. Housekeeping was very good. Bed was like a prison cot. My back is still sore. Busted stairs so you have to walk up a grassy slope. Pictures show what this place really looks like.

Very run down. No staff onsite, manager on phone was friendly. Lives out of state but informed us there was a maintenance staff who lived in the area if anything was needed. The pictures and descriptions don’t match the site. Cleanliness of our room was good but overall condition of buildings looked abandoned upon arrival. Good if your looking for a cheap place to stay. 15 minutes outside of downtown but not a bad drive.

Cheap but disappointing

Couldn’t get the TV to work as we did not Roku or Paramount accounts. The bed was old and uncomfortable, there were stains in carpet, the light had a frayed end and the water smelled like sulfur so not shower for us. No one on site to talk with

The rooms were fine but there was no signage so you couldn’t find the place. Then when we got there no one was in the office, just a number on the door to call. We had to wait for someone to give us a code to our room. When we left no one was there so we left the key. I’ll check my credit card to see what goes on.

Absolutely Horrible Experience.

This hotel needs to be removed from the list. There wasn’t anybody there. We had to call to get a lock box combination to get our room key. The room smelled like cat pee. Shower curtain laying in the shower. Needed to be vacuumed. No pillow case on one of the pillows. We tried making reservations somewhere else but they were booked for our first night so we went to the dollar store and bought towels, pillows, frebreeze spray and PJs to make it happy for one night. I have have strange markings on my leg now…bed bugs? No trash bags so that explains why there was trash outside. I sat outside on my tailgate to watch TV because it was so bad. One lady was upset with me until I told her that I didn’t work there. Another lady never got into her room because the combination wouldn’t work so she slept in her car outside our window for security. She had the better deal. This was an absolutely horrible experience that I feel sorry toward my wife that I subjected her to this experience. This was bad

I booked on Expedia, hoping for the best…it looked a little sketchy but was WAY worst in person!! I could hardly find the property- not marked at all from the road. It’s extremely run down: huge potholes in the driveway, stairs falling in, windows boarded up… and the office was locked. There was no one on site. I only got into the room because the man who was mowing the lawn let me in… No one else ever showed up… No hotel staff, no other people renting rooms. It says riverfront, and although it’s by the river, there was no view of the river… There was no restaurant or bar or any other facility is available. There was a playground in the back but I couldn’t tell if it was part of the hotel or part of the house behind the hotel? Said that there was air-conditioning wish there was not. I had to put the fan on high and the room is very hot. I couldn’t open the windows because there was no screens. It also says that they have Wi-Fi and there was Netflix streaming available on the TV but there was no information about Wi-Fi password so I wasn’t able to work from the hotel and had to leave early. With all that being said, the bed was clean, and the towels smelled freshly cleaned… The shower pressure was decent. I wouldn’t stay here again, but it wasn’t unclean.

This place is a DUMP!! It is falling apart, there are cigarette butts and smashed glass on the lawn right outside the doors to the rooms. I'm sorry to say, but this place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. The only redeeming quality was the manager at the front desk.

There was absolutely nothing to like about this property. Reservation accommodations were not honored. The room was extremely small. There were no rugs (in a very snowy town), no lamp, refrigerator was rusted with no shelves. Wifi was not provided. Due to the location (on the Canadian border), there was no phone service at all. The water was unusable and smelled like sewer. There was black sediment coming out in the water, the toilet bowl was covered in black sediment. The front desk was not manned and you were not able to call. The staff member was rude, condescending and uncooperative. To date, deposit has not been refunded. Was not able to stay at the property.

Did not match photos. All rooms not available. Was not given the room we booked and was told it was available when it has been closed for renovations. No restaurant or bar as advertised. Very run down. Was accused of stealing a hand towel and charged $20.
