This was the most horrible experience I've ever had in my 40 years of travels.The host is a joke.I will briefly explain:after booking directly w VRBO the 3/3 home in FLL area I rcd confirmation(nov/dec) for our party of 5 trip March 2026. Conf stated paid & listed cancellation penalties in detail. 5 days before our trip, I emailed host to confirm.They asked that I complete the registration form again. I completed. Next day I rcd message that registration form had to have the same credit card number I used when I booked this (4 months earlier). I told them that card has been replaced & there was the new card. That's where the literal nightmare began. They finally sent me a new form to complete but this time the price was 50% higher than the price when I booked the unit. I called VRBO & they said this was booked as a third party booking & they were limited what they could do. Host wanted the entire plus 50%more &same credit card number requested time&time again.I have nearly 100 texts/emails.The entire 9 hrs of travel to East coast, I also spent trying to correct this. My elderly mother was traveling w/us & we all had no where to stay the night we landed.We sat in baggage claim for over 4 hrs after landing working w/VRBO to try to find a solution. Then finally the host released the vacation rental code to us at 9pm.We all grabbed Uber.As we arrived,host deleted the door code.Took another 40mins to get issue another, While we sat on side of road in dark in tears!
