Cottage a Fort Madison

“We loved the halfling house. The overall impression was awe-inspiring, but as we soaked in the little details, the richness just deepened. Nothing failed to transport us to Middle Earth: the architecture, furniture, the curtains, the dishes, the fixtures. Every little decoration tickled me, from the books, to the games, to the light switch plates, to the figurines. Amazing! We watched the LOTR trilogy, cooked some hobbity meals, and dressed up in costumes the host has available for pictures....

“Host was very communicative and helpful. Home was adequate for our needs, but it is an old home in the middle of the country, so there are some (literal) bugs and the quirks to the home (unlevel, sloped floors). But it suited our needs, was well-stocked with fans and space heaters and basic supplies, and was in close proximity to Nauvoo. ”
