I can't say enough wonderful things about our little getaway. We were so fortunate to come across this gem of a place on Vrbo. We have been to the area several times in the past, so we were well aware that Fortescue in the winter would be quiet and peaceful. Other than a few fishermen and one or two others walking on the beach we had the place to ourselves. It was exactly what we needed! As if that wasn't enough, we also had the pleasure of renting this amazing house from some of the most caring and responsive hosts we've ever come in contact with. Plenty of communication before we left home made us even more excited and at ease about our stay. Getting into the home was a complete breeze...and WOW!!! We were just blown away! It was SO clean! Floors, sofa, bedding, towels, dishes, microwave and even windows (on a house on the bay??) were spotless! The place was so well stocked with the little things we needed. I packed a few things that were listed, just in case, but there was no need. It's like they thought of everything! As we walked through the house for the first time admiring the beautifully decorated bedrooms I was stopped cold upon seeing the view out of the back bedroom windows. The view is like something out of a fairytale! I'm not even a marsh person, but it was amazing to see the golden rushes dancing in the breeze as far as the eye could see. A peek out the front window reveals a look at the bay. Unfortunately, the small house right across the street is slowly being claimed by the tides, and while that's not the best view, it's part of the charm of the area. It's a place where nature abounds! However, looking by that small house is a gorgeous view of the bay waters. I didn't expect a view of both the bay and the marsh! Our hosts, Jeff and Melanie, were spot on with everything we needed communication wise. Not only did they answer any questions, they also gave insights about the weather, tides, roads, and even suggested a little place for us to explore that we've never been to. The whole weekend was amazing!
My only small reservation was the lack of a tv in the main living space. It's currently located in the bedroom, which is fine except there's no headboard and a window sitswhere your back is. I was hoping he could watch football in the evening while sitting on the sofa together. Although, the next morning I woke up in time for the sunrise and took a peek out the back window over the marsh. It was absolutely a breathtaking sight!
