Relaxing on lake time

Beautiful home directly on the water. All the amenities needed. Fireplace, hot tub, pool table, darts. Huge deck with grill and seating. Lots of windows facing main channel. Very quiet and cozy. Shaded lot with tons of wildlife. Complete remodel in 2021. Wrap around porch on 3 sides of home. Sleeps around 9. House is 1 mile from browns Ford boat ramp

The cabin was beautiful, but it is not for handicapped individuals in any way. If you have any trouble with walking, maybe this is not the place for you. The way to the lake is nearly impossible to trek. I had to craw on my hands and knees to get half way up the long hill back to the house. But I still think it was worth it! Ha! Ha! The lake is beautiful in their spot and we saw BIG fish jump! Too bad I could not get down there again. There is no floor mats in the showers and no grab bars. Slippery! I opted out of a shower for the week. Another thing is the flooring in the house is severely damaged with boards sticking up enough to trip on. We did not have a remote for the VCR in the living room and the TV & VCR did not respond very well doing it by hand. The kitchen has NO minimum staples like salt and pepper. Please NOTE: We are old fogies, who struggle every day. We just chose the wrong place for us. BUT, this place is GREAT! The pool table, darts, beautiful deck, and a rare wood burning fireplace (which we spent many hours in front of). Last but not least was the WONDERFUL Hot tub that soothed our aching bodies. All this made for a great week and we all had a SPLENDID time with our recently widowed life-long friend.This place would be great for anyone who doesn't have our challenges. One last very important thing. Our, host, Phil was very kind, patient, and went above and beyond to please. So, GO THERE!P.S. If there was a safe way to get to the lake, I'd pay 500 more!

Amazing cabin right on the lake. It was exactly what we were looking for. The place was very clean when we arrived. And we had no problems with anything wile we were there. Will definitely keep it in mind for our next lake weekend trips.

This is an awesome property to check out. The river is almost like a lake, it's extremely beautiful and secluded. Often times we were the only people in sight, and could see beautiful lake birds like Hurons and Loons. Disclaimer: be comfortable with some muck/mud if you are swimming (or plan for alternative swimming holes)

Relaxing stay

Our family of 5, with 3 older teens and dogs, really enjoyed our time here! The lake is beautiful and we all had a blast swimming.Three bed downstairs along with the pool table and dart board was great for our kids. We all enjoyed the hot tub as well. It is serene spot in the country and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Great Place to Escape to!!!

This lake house was clean, easy to find, and the location was great! Proximity to Bowling Green and Mammoth Caves NP made daytime adventures easy and accessible. Even though it was winter, the lakefront location was relaxing and quiet. Definitely worth the trip.

Loved the cabin. Never wanted for anything. The owner was quick to respond to questions. Did miss seeing the lake but it was drained for the winter. Still very pretty area. Would definitely stay again.

Surprise Proposal

This property was one of only 2 available for our last-minute dates for a family trip to visit our "to be engaged" daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property to include engagement photos taken down by the lake. We were able to unplug and spend quality time fishing, kayaking and playing games together and discuss the upcoming wedding. The property was very clean and well stocked. The communication with the owner was excellent. We will stay again for our next visit.

Nice for a quick get away

House was very clean & had an easy check in process. Family loved the hot tub and game room. Owners put a lot of work into the house and the pictures were accurate.

Only 2 bedrooms!!!

The listing for this property states this house has 3 bedrooms. In the “rooms and beds” part of the listing the host lists 4 bedrooms and their beds. This property has 2 bedrooms. When we inquired with the host he replied that the basement room with the pool table was being counted as a bedroom. We travel with another family. They have 2 teen girls and we have 2 younger boys. They are not sharing a bedroom. Our boys ended up sleeping on the floor of the walk in closet. There is a pull out bed in the living room but when pulled out there is not room to walk around in the room. The posting states accommodates 9. The kitchen table seats 4. The living room seats 4. There is only 1 towel hook in each bathroom, etc., etc. This is a super tight squeeze for 8-9 people. The posting states this is a “lake house”. The lake is DRY this time of year which was not mentioned in the posting. After asking around town, we learned the water is released at the end of May and damned again every fall. All of that being said, the house has been updated nicely and would be a nice stay for a small family or group. Also, of note, the house is really in the middle of nowhere so if you are looking for a quiet secluded stay, this might be a nice choice. The house was definitely not what we thought we were paying for but nonetheless we had a nice time.

Family vacation.

Cabin was amazing! Had a great time, wonderful fishing and beautiful wildlife!. Very clean, close to town and relaxing. Phillip, our host, was excellent to work with!! Will definitely be back!

Nice stay with a few drawbacks

The Lake house was beautiful. The owner has put money and care into updating the house and making it very comfortable. We had an enjoyable stay and Barren River Lake is beautiful. The house was listed as 3 bedrooms but there are only 2. The living room pullout couch must be thought of as a third bedroom. There are three double beds in the basement bedroom. There was still water seeping up from the basement floor from a broken pipe last winter. It wasn’t much but I wasn’t made aware of it until the day we arrived. There are downed trees, limbs and branches at the shoreline which made it impossible for our grandkids to swim and limited fishing possibilities. Our grandkids did use the paddle boat and enjoyed it. The area is quiet and relaxing. Also the owner was quick to reply with any questions I had.
