Beautiful lakefront home that's perfect for a weekend getaway with family! Loved spending our evenings at the outside dinning table by the water. The location is perfect--close enough to nearby Frankfort, far enough away from town to enjoy the quiet.

Location is everything

Lake front and totally private; we fell asleep to the waves. The location is what makes this property incredible. We spent almost all of our time outside and enjoyed it thoroughly, including plenty of boats, chairs, and sand tots provided by the owner. There is a weirdly heavy infestation of fruit flies throughout the house that was unpleasant, some of the linens weren’t clean, and a few lights didn’t work. Peter was a responsive and gracious host!

Wonderful property

The property is a real marvel, located right in front of crystal lake with breath taking view. The house is clean, cozy and can easily accommodate a big family or couple of families. The host Pete - is very resourceful and kind, eager to help and accomodate. Check in and out was very easy. This property is highly recommended. I’ll certainly visit this place

Lovely lake house and views!

This beautiful house is right on Crystal Lake with fantastic views from most of the house and from the beautiful deck. We really appreciated the well-appointed, immaculately clean and comfortable home. We appreciated Peter's hospitality, checking with us to ensure we had everything we needed (which we did)! We would definitely recommend this for a lakeside get away!

Disappointing experience!

Upon check-in, we noticed the house was unkept & extremely dirty. The home carried a strong musty/mildew odor & felt damp. We immediately noticed mouse droppings on the floor, cabinets, as well as the drawers that contained silverware and utensils. The windows & slider doors were filthy & were littered with spiderwebs, dirt, & dead bugs. Both of the slider doors facing the lake would not lock, which created a safety concern. Both the upper & lower decks were covered in spiderwebs and hadn't been cleaned for some time. This made enjoying a beautiful view a bit challenging especially when dodging deck spiders. Two of the beds contained dirty linens, hair, and were not fresh. Later in the week we noticed multiple cockroaches in the lower bedroom and dresser. The overall condition of the home and property was well short of our expectations. We immediately reached out to Peter and expressed our concerns. Rather than disrupting our stay, we agreed to address our concerns prior to check-out. On two occasions, Peter entered the house without our consent which was very concerning and a clear violation of VRBO's policy. Upon check out we reached out to Peter to mitigate the issues & come to a compromise. He quickly became agitated and either deflected or would not acknowledge the issues we identified & documented during our stay. Peter's attitude towards our complaints lacked empathy & he became combative. As long time VRBO renters we have never experienced such a disappointing stay.

Crystal Lake Family Vacation

My family of 8 had a wonderful week together at this property on Crystal Lake. Although we initially had some issues upon our arrival and first day, our host Peter responded quickly to resolve them and we were able to move on and enjoy our week on the lake and in the surrounding area. Much time was spent on the deck overlooking the lake relaxing. We enjoyed the stand up paddleboards and kayaks that were provided. We were able to prepare all our meals right there at the house utilizing the grill and full kitchen. We kept the windows and doors open to enjoy the fresh air flowing through and the beautiful sounds of the lake.

It’s a “Home Boat”!

Some people have lake homes and some people have house boats. This is a home boat wherein we were rocked to sleep at night by the sounds of the waves (without the rocking boat or sea sickness) but nestled snug inside a loving home. While I love a 5 star hotel and AC when we are Chicago, we all loved life with all the windows and doors open and the feeling of truly being in nature and sweeping the sand our boys dragged in right back out the door. Our boats, Peter and his family, deserve a 6 star rating for the hosts with the Mosts.

Nice week stay in June

We have tried many cottage stays around Crystal Lake, and this was probably the nicest. Nice new updates like sliding doors and toilets, and looks like more updates in the works. The cottage is long along the lake so lots of views of the water, plus a nice deck, with shade when needed too. Nice dock with nice steps into the water. Pete, the owner was very responsive by text if needed. Situated about halfway between Frankfort and Buelah, on M22

Crystal Lake Vacation

We had a few issues initially but Pete responded quickly and fixed everything.the location was perfect close to the beach and sleeping bear dunes. The house was perfect for what we needed and the kayaks/paddle boards were a fun bonus.

Awesome location

Beautiful location on the lake. Property manager is quick to response. Beautiful deck for relaxing and grilling while we watch everyone swim. Water is clean. We enjoyed our stay.
