Fin lejlighed i velordnet ejendom med elevator og p-kælder. En del trafikstøj. Vi boede på 5 sal, flot udsigt over Funchal by samt havet. Kun ventilator i lejligheden, ingen aircondition. Gode spise- og shoppingmuligheder i gåafstand.

Dont let the water view fool you

My husband and I stayed at this property from Sep19-Sep26.2022. The unit has beautiful water views, but we could not enjoy the views as we had hoped. All around floor to ceiling windows become a curse when there is No air conditioning or ceiling fan. We needed to keep the blinds shut all day. But even with blinds shut, the unit gets uncomfortably hot, you feel like an egg on a frying pan. When asked about the air conditioning, the owner said to use the windows to get a cross breeze. With the construction happening across the road and the traffic noise, you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Between lack of air conditioning and inability to keep the windows open and the rock-solid mattress, we were not able to get a good night’s sleep. Every morning We needed to quickly get out of the unit to avoid the unbearable heat. After more complaint, the owner provided us a small fan, which we kept moving from the bedroom to the living room. The only time we could spend any time at the unit was after dinner when sun was down and construction was done for the day. Property should have been inspected and ready for the next guest upon arrival and unfortunately that was not the case. There was no hand soap, toiletries, sufficient toilet paper, coffee maker, ........... Upon sending multiple text messages to the owner stating that we need soap immediately, he mentioned that he is at work and he will provide the items later that evening. we had to run to the grocery store immediately after our long trip in order to be able to take a shower. The shower water temperature is not reliable. It works on a tankless water heater that does not work properly. It takes a long time for the water to heat up. Then it goes from burning hot to cold even without touching the faucet. The water pressure in the entire unit is low. The bedroom condition: mattress is rock solid, pillows uncomfortable, headboard stained and bed sheets are in a disarray condition. The kitchen: there was no coffee maker, upon our inquiry the owner provided us one later that day. The basic essential to fry an egg, such as salt and oil or sugar for coffee does not exist. All the kitchen essentials such as knives are of such poor quality, you can not cut a piece of bread with them.

Überteuert, laut und starker Verkehr

In den vergangenen Jahren haben wir unseren Jahresurlaub in Sitges, einen kleinen Ort in der nähe von Barcelona verbracht. Aufgrund der Corona-Situation haben wir uns in diesem Jahr für einen Urlaub auf Madeira entschieden. Das Appartement haben wir für 10 Nächte (16. bis 26.8) gebucht, und zwar erst ein paar Tage vor dem Reiseantritt (9. August). Martim, der Gastgeber, war sehr freundlich und hat uns sehr (!) gute Tipps gegeben. Das Appartement hat einen separaten Schlafraum, eine Küche und eine frisch renoviertes Bad. Allerdings waren einige der Möbelstück sehr start abgewohnt. Insgesamt aber noch gerade ok. Trotz der guten Aussicht ist das Appartement aus meiner Sicht (und meine Frau unterstützt das sehr deutlich) völlig überteuert und überbewertet, und zwar aus folgenden Gründen: Der wesentliche Grund für uns dieses wirklich sehr teure Appartement (> 200 Euro pro Nacht) zu buchen, war die Möglichkeit vom Balkon oder dem Wohnzimmer auf das Meer zu schauen, um z. B. ein Buch zu lesen oder etwas zu trinken. Dies ist aufgrund des Verkehrs quasi nicht möglich. Dieser Verkehr und der damit verbundene Lärm halten den ganzen Tag über an. Insbesondere die Linienbusse, Transporter und Motorräder produzieren einen enormen Lärm. Dieser schwächt sich in der Nacht zwar etwas ab, bleibt aber trotzdem massiv hörbar erhalten. Besonders negativ ist, dass eine Straße (das Schlafzimmer liegt zu dieser Seite) bergauf führt. Entsprechend stark müssen die Fahrzeuge beschleunigen, verbundenen mit entsprechendem Lärm. Mir ist völlig unklar, warum dies in den Reviews und der Beschreibung des Appartements nicht erwähnt wird. Besonders störend war allerdings der Lärm durch eine Baustelle, die nebenan lag. Von morgens um 8 Uhr bis abends 18 Uhr liefen schwere Maschinen und Presslufthammer. Wir haben in der Wohnung teilweise über 80 dB gemessen. Hierauf nicht hinzuweisen halten wir für überaus unfair. Als letzten Punkt möchte ich noch darauf hinweisen, dass die Reviews sich teilweise auf ein anderes Apartment beziehen, dass an einer anderen Stelle im 10 Stock liegt.

Our host Martim picked us up from the Airport He was kind enough to give us info on places to visit and restaurants to try. Travel around the Island is easy by bus although we hired a car from Futuro car hire.Very simple no hassle. Apartment has lovely views.Clean and tidy.

Spectacular views and very well provisioned apartment

The first impression of the apartment was "wow!" The view across the sea and along the coast was spectacular. Even from the kitchen, all you see is the beautiful sea through the windows. The kitchen was very well provisioned with everything you'd need to cook in the apartment. There even resealable tubs to store things in or to take out a picnic. The apartment block was going through quite a makeover. Our apartment was already done and looked great. Some of the front of the apartment block and the lobby wasn't as good but it was just an area you walked through. We'd hired a car for our holiday. Parking was easy and there was never a problem finding a place. The car park is secure with remote controlled gates in and out. The nearest bus stop to the apartment is literally right outside with regular buses into Funchal on the high frequency line. Cost was €1.90 per person so cheap enough too. There are a few restaurants around within an easy walk but not a huge number. Our preference was to head into Funchal for the evening or enjoy a light meal on the balcony watching the sun set. There's a large supermarket very close by at the Forum with an underground car park which was free if you shopped in store. Overall, the apartment itself was spacious, very clean, well provisioned and I'd stay there again. Being slightly more centrally located would have made it that bit better but getting around was easy enough to not worry about it too much. Martim, the owner, was very helpful and friendly with great communication from the minute of booking. All fantastic!

Great view, unimpressed with the apartment

The one good thing about the property were the views. The shower was mouldy and dirty. We had to buy our own hand soap as the only thing available was previously used bar soap complete with hair from a prior user. The neighbors smoked which filtered into the apartment even with the windows and doors shut. The kitchen appliances were greasy to the touch. We did not particularly enjoy our stay here.

Amazing location and fantastic views

We had a wonderful stay at the end of July - the apartment is modern and full of light and has everything you could possibly need to make you feel at home. Ocean views were amazing and it was great to be able to walk to the sea / rock pools / bars & restaurants within just a few minutes. Martim was a great host and gave us plenty of ideas for places to visit and things to see. Would definitely recommend!

Amanzing view

Great location near the Promenade, amazing views, and close to the Sea, great space with a big balcony, outstanding communication and hospitality. If anybody asks me about where to stay in funchal, i’d have no problem in recommending Spin place.

Fantastic apartment and great location

This is a great apartment - very spacious for 2 people with wonderful views over the bay. Martim was an excellent host and gave us ideas for day trips and recommended some very good restaurants.

Nice view and great location!

Spin was very helpful in prodiving insights, suggestions and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. He is very knowledgeable and proud of Madeira which is awesome! The apartment is located in the hotel zone and about 25 minute walk from the downtown. Many excellent restaurants near by. It is very safe and you can walk late at night in the neighbourhood. The apartment is functional but requires an upgrade. There is no AC therefore you need to open the windows and it was quite noisy from traffic. There is a tall rise under construction across the street which blocks the ocean view view on one side. However; the view is still outstanding.

Wunderbares Appartment in einem tollen Bereich von Funchal

Wir sind vom 12.07.-26.07.2018 in dem Appartment an der Estrada Monumental gewesen und hatten eine tolle Zeit. Die Wohnung ist in einem Hochhaus im 10. Stock und man hat einen super Blick von den 2 Balkons auf das Meer und den Strand. Es ist alles gut erreichbar: in 10 min zu Fuß in das große Einkaufszentrum Forum Madeira, in rd. 15 min an den Strand mit einem Teil Sandstrand und zugehörigen Restaurants und WC, in ca. 60 min nach Funchall-City zu Fuß oder mit der Bushaltestelle direkt vor der Tür in rd. 15 min mit dem Bus. Das Appartment hat einen sehr großen Wohnzimmerbereich mit offenem Zugang zur gut ausgestatteten Küche und einem mit einer Glastür abgeteilten zweiten Schlafzimmer. Vom großen Wohnzimmerbereich kann man auf Balkon Nr. 1 gehen. Daneben gibt es ein separates Schlafzimmer mit Balkon Nr. 2. Bitte nicht von den Bildern verwirren lassen, da wohl auch andere Appartments mit vermietet werden. Zusätzlich geht es vom Wohnzimmer in einen separaten Badbereich. Zum Appartment gehört der exklusive Zugang zum Poolbereich, der einen ausreichend großen runden Pool hat und eine nette Aussicht. Der Vermieter Martim Spin hat uns vom Flughafen abgeholt und sich toll um uns gekümmert. Vielen Dank für den sehr schönen Urlaub auf Madeira Claudia und Wolfgang

war in ordnung aber etwas weit weg von der Stadt

Ein alter Block aber die Wohnung war ok. Mein Fehler dass ich mich von der Aussicht geblendet habe und nicht gemerkt habe dass man mit dem Auto in die Altstadt ca 10 Minuten hat.

Wunderbare Aussicht, modern eingerichtete Wohnung

Die Wohnung liegt in einem etwas älteren Gebäude in der 10. Etage und bietet damit einen herrlichen Blick auf das Meer und auf das Cabo Girao, das insbesondere abends wunderbar beleuchtet ist. Sie leigt am Rande des "Touristenzentrums" mit vielen Hotels und in der Umgebung finden sich kleine Bars und Restaurants, in denen sich vorwiegend Madeirenser treffen. Zur Praia Formosa und zu der Uferpromenade, auf der man bis nach Câmara de Lobos spazeiren kann, sind es nur 10 Minuten Fußweg. Auch an der Uferpromenade sind einige Bars und Restaurants. Die Wohnung selbst ist modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Nach unseren Wanderungen und Tagesausflügen haben wir uns immer darauf gefreut, auf dem Balkon zu sitzen und die Aussicht auf das Meer zu genießen. Für einen nächsten Urlaub in Madeira werden wir auf jeden Fall die Wohnung wieder mieten. Wir waren vollauf zufrieden!

Very nice apartment

The apartment is spacious and well-equipped and is close to Forum Madeira for shopping. Wonderful views of the bay and cliffs from the balcony. Martim is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

This apartment is just as described - amazing view, comfortable, spotlessly clean, quiet area.

This was a lovely apartment, and Martin was a great host. He met us at the airport and kindly brought us back to the airport at the end of our stay. He gave us a list of suggestions for things to do and restaurants to try. We followed his advice and had some great meals. We especially liked Taberna da Madeira and O Tasco. We went on an off road jeep tour of the West with Safari, and had an unforgettable time on a whale and dolphin watching trip with Rota dos Cetaceos. We didn't see any on our first trip, which is unusual, but they gave us a second trip for free and we saw lots of common dolphins and hundreds of striped dolphins. While the apartment is a little outside the city, it is easy to get around on the bus and the area was quiet. One day we walked all the way into town along the promenade, which was lovely. There is a big shopping centre nearby with a supermarket. We never used the pool, but it looked really nice. It is also possible to swim in the sea nearby. I would recommend this property without hesitation.

Very nice appartment

Be aware that the appartment is in the hotel zone. The house is quite old, but the appartment is very nice renovated and from the balcony you have a perfect view to the ozean and the sun downer! Martim is a very nice host and has a lot of good tips for your holiday. The only negative point I would rate the noice of the elevator in the appartment. You have only a short walk for shopping, ozean and bus station (directly in front of the house). There is parking space for a rental car.
