Il villaggio di Langshaw conduce alla fattoria Overlangshaw e al cottage accogliente e caratteristico chiamato appropriatamente The Hen Hoose, dove non c'è mai carenza di uova biologiche ruspanti per colazione.

    Dal giardino d'inverno ci sono viste meravigliose. Andare in bicicletta e camminare sulle tranquille strade e piste di campagna sono passatempi popolari con Borders Abbey Way, Southern Upland Way e molte passeggiate locali, come le Eildon Hills vicino a Melrose per citarne alcuni. Piste ciclabili Glentress con noleggio bici disponibile, è l'ideale per i più energici. In Melrose Robert il cuore di Bruce è sepolto nei terreni dell'antica Abbazia. Ci sono deliziosi negozi, ristoranti, pub e giardini da scoprire. L'Abbotsford House di Sir Walter Scott si trova nelle vicinanze del fiume Tweed. Galashiels ha eccellenti negozi e un collegamento ferroviario con la stazione Waverley di Edimburgo. Negozio, pub e ristorante 5¼ miglia.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location

The Hen Hoose is in a lovely location. It is on a working farm but is quiet and peaceful. Everything is provided for you in the cottage. It has comfy beds. There is a wood burner and we were left lots of wood to keep us warm and cosy. The owners are friendly and left us from their farm milk, eggs, honey and delicious icecream. I would reccomend staying there. There are lots of places to visit and many walks in the Tweed Valley forests.

Warm & comfortable. The only trouble we had was the booking agency used our credit card details to take the balance 3 weeks before it was due & without our authority.

It was our second time in the Hen Hoose.

It was our second time in the Hen Hoose. Last year we were on Christmas and this year as well. It's lovely cottage, fireplace and christmas tree, delicious eggs and ice cream. And also this year we received little gifts from Santa under the tree. That was so nice. The lady is very lovely person and very helpful. We will back for sure.

The Hen Hoose is a brilliant cottage - loads of space, comfortable beds and sofas, lovely warmth produced by the Rayburn(It wasn't the best of weather when we were there), and the sun room which faced south across rolling fields with cows, sheep and chickens and was great to sit and read and relax. The family were very welcoming and helpful and supplied us with eggs from their hens and delicious ice cream made on the farm. We would love to visit again and would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet holiday.

Great position and a comfortable house in a peaceful setting. Owners very friendly and generous with Eggs, and Ice Cream made on Farm. A little way to find a Pub, Restaurant but if you want to self cater in the evenings the amenities are all there. Views from the Cottage lovely.

Set in beautiful surroundings this is a lovely, well equipped cottage. Very warm & comfortable, only 10 mins drive from Galashiels and all that you might need from town. Fantastic view from the conservatory & a feeling of peace and quiet all around. So much to do in the area and the warmest welcome from Sheila ensures that we'll be going back for a 3rd stay.

What a delightful setting for a lovely cottage and now nice to be greeted by such friendliness and generosity. We loved our stay here as it was an ideal centre for exploring the Borders. Beds were extremely comfortable, facilities were top rate and the peaceful countryside surroundings made for a very relaxed visit. The generous supply of beautiful eggs and luscious ice cream gives us a tale to share with friends world wide! Thank you so much to Sheila and the family for a memorable experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Hen Hoose! The water pressure for the shower and bath was excellent. Had to make adjustments using hot water in the kitchen and bath - much hotter than ours in the US - but very welcome! Being from rural America ourselves, we felt right at home in the farm setting and enjoyed watching the sheep and horses outside our windows. The location was perfect for day trips to locations in the Borderlands where we had ancestral connections. The cottage was very clean and the beds were comfortable and warm. And the fresh eggs and container of home made ice cream were a delightful surprise. We highly recommend the Hen Hoose!

Absolutely fantastic property. Owner was very accommodating. Cottage was very comfortable and suited our needs as a family of 5. The fresh eggs certainly went down a treat. Would definitely book it again.
