The Cedar Cabin @ River's Edge Bed & Breakfast

Overlooking the Ohio River, the Cedar Cabin at the River's Edge Bed & Breakfast offers a peaceful, comfortable, and intimate experience of the Ohio River. With a queen, 2 twins, and another queen in the loft, this would be great for families, hunters, or couples. Each day includes 2 made-from-scratch Breakfasts & coffee, up to a $26 value (through December 31, 2025). Dog and cat friendly. Smart TV. Free wi-fi available.
The space
This cozy, rustic, cedar-walled single-room cabin directly overlooks the Ohio River. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside there is direct access to the beach & water, as well as a large open grassy & landscaped space overlooking the river, with a fire pit, swing set, and flagstone areas with covered tables. The property also borders a deep creek, with lots of trees. The cabins & yard are mostly separated from the road by the restaurant (no longer open to the public with the exception of serving the B&B cabins). Two parking spaces available per cabin (please reach out ahead of time should you want more spaces). Locally-sourced coffee provided in the cabin. The room is heated/cooled primarily with a mini split unit.
Guest access
Guests can access the river, beach, and large yard at their leisure. There is also a landing spot for boats about four miles south (KH Butler) and a cute little town about a 10-minute drive north. Free onsite parking lot is available. We live in a very rural area, so there are a variety of dwellings and lots of patches of woods around.
Other things to note
We offer a contact-free, COVID-friendly checkin. Very kid friendly. Very pet friendly. Smoking & vaping permitted on cabin deck and outside public areas, but not in cabins please. We ask that breakfast orders be placed by 9pm the night before. Our breakfasts are homemade and we provide locally-sourced coffee in the cabin. Smart TV in cabin. Free Wi-Fi.

Our stay here was cozy, homey, inviting, and perfect for a quiet and simple outing in the Ohio/West Virginia area.My wife and I were hoping for something within drive-able distance to Huntington and Point Pleasant while staying somewhere that had a small cabin feel (that wasn't a totally remote wilderness experience) and this place is perfect. The cabin itself was comfortable, the river lovely, location perfect for our needs, a nice accessible fire pit -- but the REAL treat was the hospitality. Chris, Rebecca and Gena were positively wonderful and as friendly as can be (and the breakfasts were glorious!).Also the adorable and mildly rotund cat that lives around here is the silliest little fella I've ever met. If this site were capable of offering more than five stars, I would do so. Simply cannot recommend highly enough.
Snowfall during our stay and a majestic fog was perfect for a nice hot coffee on the porch overlooking the river - and then on to a toasty fire!
Before the snows- nothing beats a good view on a wood porch with a nearly unnaturally peaceful quiet.

The Cedar Cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Property is rustic in appearance but all the amenities you need. It overlooks the Ohio River which is a nice addition. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. This is sport second time staying here and we will return.

Ok, here’s the situation: 2 parents, 2 kids, and a dog on a week’s vacation. Driving to Michigan to see some friends. Starting in Chapel Hill, will the miles ever end? They will, they do, with a stop in Ohio, Where we’ll rest for the adventure that awaits us tomorrow. River’s Edge isn’t so posh from the cold outside, but it’s a cozy, thoughtful oasis when you’re standing inside. ————- OK, I had to bust out a little Fresh Prince for this one. We found this place on a lark the day before our trip, and you know what we found? A tradition! We’ll be back next year, for sure. Outside: shed. Inside, OMG, rough-hewn cedar walls, hot shower, VERY comfortable beds, a mini split that works great, and a wee kitchenette with a fridge, TV, and Coffee maker, alongside actually good coffee. And creamer! And, this place was clean, clean, clean, top to bottom. So tidy. And hooks abound, so you can stay organized. Our good dog loved it, too. And in the morning, the fog rolled in, and as we stood with our coffee on the deck into the mist, we saw a heron and a hawk within about 10 yards. The crew is tight. Gina brought us breakfast—not fancy, but fresh biscuits—which we ate while we brushed up on the opening scenes of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles before we got back on the road. This made our trip really feel like a vacation. Loved it. So many thoughtful touches. Thanks to the River’s Edge crew for giving us a cozy place to stop and rest!

We absolutely adored our stay at River's Edge! It was the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, with a beautiful view of the river from the back deck. The breakfasts every morning were wonderful and the communication couldn't have been better. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area -- highly, highly recommended!

We stayed in the Cedar Cabin, Host was friendly, ordered the breakfast bowls for breakfast was delivered with a smile on time. Bowls were delicious. Gourmet coffee was included in room. If staying again I would choose bigger cabin next door It did have a lot of stink bugs there was a fly swatter in cabin, but a handheld vac would have been a good option. Great unobstructed view.

The owners and staff were friendly and very communicative. The bed was super comfortable and the cabin was well stocked with whatever you might need!Very pet-friendly property with outdoor spaces. My dogs and I enjoyed the back deck and the path down to the river. The property is right off a highway. It's quiet, but I felt the need to drive into town to take my dogs on long walks.

Property was exactly as described. Picked this property for its proximity to a winery we were visiting, and for the view of the river. The made to order breakfast each morning, delivered to our, was delicious. We spent hours on the balcony watching boats and barges pass by. Our stay was pleasant and peaceful and definitely would recommend, and fully intend on booking again.

I came back for my 50th High School reunion, and decided to try staying 2 nights in a cabin by the Ohio River. Rustic? Yes, yet it has all that you would need - fridge, microwave, coffee maker, free wifi, Roku TV, great AC, and a deck to enjoy the view. Remember that you’re in a cabin, so sometimes the outdoors may come in. Also, the breakfasts I had each morning were delicious, cheerfully delivered right to my cabin. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.

This is our second visit to the Cedar Cabin and definitely not the last!! Beautiful little cabin overlooking the Ohio River. Very clean, and a delicious breakfast. The owners provided unparalleled service and hospitality!!! They are so focused on making sure guests have a problem-free experience. And, there is a very friendly outdoor kitty to greet guests upon arrival. On a rating scale of 1 to 10 we give them a 50!!!!!

This spacious one room cabin was clean and stocked by considerate, generous people. There were board games, several flavors of creamer in the fridge, plenty of nice towels, and a fun little loft. The home cooked breakfast was delicious and delivered on time. The best part was the back porch with a beautiful view of the river. We will definitely go back!

Wonderful stay, everyone was so so friendly and accommodating! Breakfast was amazing and right on time both mornings, highly recommend the breakfast bowl! The place was exactaly as advertised, clean and fully stocked! We were in town for a volleyball tournament in Gallipolis, we will stay here again when we come back!

Amazing spot, cabin is really close to river, you can hear a relaxing sound of nature, cabin smells woody which is too nice, perfect combination with environment, owners are so friendly, breakfast was amazing, freshly made and they are bringing it to your door. Definitely recommend this place if you want to spend a nice time in Ohio.

Beautiful property and amazing hosts! We stayed for a girls trip and couldn't have asked for a better bed and breakfast! Make sure you order the biscuits because they are to die for!! Plus the sweetest little cat, Henry , greeted us at the firepit each day.

Outstanding customer service

First I'll stay with communication at first I thought it was a bit excessive but I later understood why I received several communications. When I arrived and finally saw it I was a bit taken a back it's quaint. One single room, a microwave and fridge, I had brought food to cook, which I couldn't. There was a bed a bunk bed and a ladder to a lifted area, sleeping 6 is a stretch. We had 4 but 5 easy if someone wants to sleep up. The balcony really does over look the river it's nice. I was, however, blown away by such amazing citations service that I quickly did not care, it is by far very affordable and a great place to sleep and prepare for your other planned adventures. They're is no swimming or fishing at least not there, although they don't claim that. The breakfast is ample and a great addition. Gena and Chris bent over backwards to do things and make sure we had everything we didn't even know we needed. I have been traveling for over 40 years and have never experienced the level of costumer friendliness and support they provided. I would stay at any of their properties time and time again. Bring boats games, there is a grill and firepit they let you use, a swings and climbing gym thing. The beds were extremely comfortable and the loft is deep.
The river is right there and you can walk down a private path a few hundred feet away but this way is inaccessible.

Rivers Edge has become my home away from home. Chris and his wife are amazing people who want to every thing they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Miss Gena is the sweetest person and goes out of her way to make you the best homemade breakfast ever. I highly recommend this place
