After reading reviews of this property and seeing the overall rating of a 9.6, I figured that this would be a can’t miss opportunity. Upon arrival, the location was excellent with restaurants and pubs within a short walk, to allow myself and my family to explore the wonderful city of Galway. That was about when the positives ended. When we opened the door, there was a pile about 5ft high of towels and sheets under the stairs, the vacuum cleaner was in the middle of the floor and there was still a mess of crumbs located around the home. We could have gotten over that, but after a long day of travel we wanted a shower. Both showers in this property are dreadful. The downstairs shower doesn’t drain properly and floods into the entryway, so you need to block the door with towels to prevent an overflow. The upstairs shower is barely large enough to fit a child and takes ages to start up. As a foreigner in Ireland, I wasn’t aware that you needed to pull the string from the bathroom ceiling to get hot water. Signage or a message from the host would have been extremely helpful. Speaking of the upstairs bathroom, the light is censor activated along with all of the upstairs lights, so any movement in the night will turn on every light and the bathroom light would turn off after 20 second if there was no movement. The beds weren’t comfortable at all and put together improperly as well. For 1,700 euros, I expected much much better.
