#Mandore Garden Abandoned since 1459 CE, the ancient town of Mandore is just five-and-a-half miles north of the tourist haven of #Jodhpur, Rajasthan. One of best-preserved sites here is the Mandore Gardens that stand strong to tell the tale of a bygone era. Over the centuries, Mandore served as the capital of many #Jodhpur kings, and even witnessed several invasions from different dynasties, including the Muslim rulers of #Gujarat and #Malwa. So, in order to protect #Mandore further from invasions, the capital was shifted to the hilltop #Mehrangarh Fort, as it offers better safety and protection to the royal kingdom.

Tips: Beware of Indian monkeys here, they can snatch cameras, phone, water bottle or anything you get your hands on.

“The property is far from the central places, rooms are quite smaller than it appears in the photos, hotel didn't respond to the request at all and there was issue with their listing claiming to include breakfast but hotel front desk declining (Expedia internet to sort out). “This property is very reasonably priced in comparison to what you get. The bed was very comfy and the air conditioning was fab. I had the paneer makhani and jeera rice for dinner and it was sooo good. There is a pharmacy a few doors down which was very useful for me. I did a tuk tuk tour around Jodhpur and there were no issues with picking me up and dropping me back to this hotel. “Our family of four, with two boys ages 13 and 11, stayed for three nights at Surpura Bagh. We absolutely loved it! The staff were wonderful and our room/villa was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We especially loved eating at the resort’s two restaurants and using the swimming pools - both the larger one by the restaurants and the smaller private one at our villa. We have no real complaints . The resort is about 11 km away from the city and main attractions, so be prepared to make arrangements...
