About this space
You Will Love Staying at our newly renovated vacation home. Located Next to the Water on Barren River Lake you can Walk Out On the Back Deck and Enjoy the Hummingbirds Feeding, Watch for the Deer and Raccoons Or Listen to the Many Calls of the Birds. This home is perfect for a Quiet Retreat and is Completely Furnished With a Full Size Kitchen as well as state of the art Appliances. We Supply Your Coffee, Cream, Sugar, Salt/pepper, Cook Ware, Dishes, Linens, bedding plus more.
The space
Our Home Has Cable TV, Free WIFI. If You're Not Trying to Get Away from Everything! This beautiful home has two bedrooms with a full-size bed in one, and a queen size bed in the second bedroom. The living room has a comfy sofa. This Home is Ideally Set up and Designed for Families Seeking a Unique, Quiet Country Hideaway.
Guest access
The property includes 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, 2 to 5 bedroom duplex apartments, as well as smaller rooms for rent, in addition to the 2 bedroom home. There are sidewalks to all of the buildings/homes, as well as direct access to the lake behind the property. There is a dock available for all your favorite water sports on the water, fishing as well as simply relaxing. Enjoy the swings and patio set on the deck and the swing in the back yard by the lake. It’s a totally different world out here. Come enjoy it!

There are a lot of popular sights and activities within a short distance. Barren River State Resort Park is only about a 10 minute drive from the house and the property sits right on the lake. There are also a lot of popular attractions nearby such as Beech Bend and the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green (about 35 minutes away) as well as Mammoth Cave National Park in Cave City (about 30 minutes away).


If you can think of anything else you may need or have special plans during your stay, please just let us know. For example, you are planning your wedding proposal or just got married and are going on your honeymoon. Whatever your special occasion, you can count on us to help with planning, booking a photographer, or even suggest wedding planners or similar services. Whatever you need we are here to help. Just let us know what you have in mind.

Conveniently there is also a wedding venue less than a half mile from the property. Once the rest of the property is complete, we will have plenty of room for your bridal and groomsman parties.

Our construction is now complete so please don’t let any of the comments about it deter you from staying with us. It is a very peaceful and relaxing place to just kick back and enjoy nature at its best. You don’t know what you are missing if you have never enjoyed a nice afternoon or night in the country looking at the stars and watching the animals who wonder into the yard on occasion. Bait & Switch

The website displayed pictures and stated that the home accommodated six people. It sleeps three. There were two beds: a queen and a full. The downstairs was not accessible, and it looked like renovations had started at one time, but they now sat in dust and cobwebs. The main floor has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining area, and a living room. There is a bathroom and a half. The main area was very clean, smelled nice, and was organized. The deck/porch off the living room is the main feature of the house. It is large with a double swing, a table with four comfortable chairs, a bench, and a roof to shield from the sun. We love this area. The neighborhood is quiet, and nature surrounds the home. It is lovely.Areas to improve: 1) update the information on the Vrbo website to reflect current conditions of the home; 2) ensure the bathroom and kitchen have paper products (we had to bring in paper towels and toilet paper); 3) replace the pancake-like pillows in the bedrooms: and 4) update the contact person's information on the emails (it took three different contacts to get the entry code), Otherwise, we would book this house again. As mentioned before, we loved the location, the quietness of the area, and the deck/porch was so inviting. I am hopeful that the downstairs is not being renovated as a separate area to rent out. It would take away the peace we felt with no other people around.

Stay away! Disappointed, NO communication!

I decided to give this place a chance since the listing had been updated. However, no contact other than through VRBO, no way to get door code. The host listed is no longer working with this property but was kind enough to text & let me know. VRBO did refund my rental & I was able to find a hotel on July 4th. Overflowing trash at curb so someone is staying nearby. Looks like a nice place & I wish I could have stayed. It should no longer be listed since this seems to be a common Issue but it was just recently.

Could tell older home with some updates. but that was ok. Home was clean but could use some extra work. carpet cleaned of stains. loveseat was not useable as seemed to be broke or just that it was worn out, was unable to use without putting several pillows on seat, otherwise when you set down on it you literally went to the floor. back deck should have been cleaned of excessive leaves, spider webs, and stale cigarette butts in container before our arrival. Aware it is time of year and leaves are falling, but it was obvious an attempt to get rid of any of the leaves was not made. We swept the deck of some leaves and out of chairs, swing in order to sit on deck to enjoy. Over all our stay was good, and we would probable rent again, but would hope that our comments would be taken into consideration. Feel that maybe with some little extra attention to the place, maybe would have more people renting. We were there meeting friends that live in the area and they asked how we liked and what we thought of the place. Said they had been told mixed reviews on place and knew from those comments that maybe the place was not kept up as well as it once was. A little extra attention goes a long way.

Terrible management

TLDR; don't use this property unless you're looking for more drama and incompetence in your life. I found and reserved this property Aug 25th. I received a conformation that day. Sept 3rd I asked for an address. This was to facilitate the travel plans. 2 days later after contacting VRBO they responded and said that they will send the details closer to the arrival date. (Sept 7th) Sept 7th (the day of check in) the room was canceled by the management because it was "double booked". After a short conversation they stated that they have it listed on multiple sites and it was not their fault. I was unable to give a review because it was canceled. I filed a complaint with VRBO/Expedia. This complaint addressed multiple issues. I received an email asking for a review a three weeks later. In short, don't use this property unless you're looking for more drama and incompetence in your life.

House Doubled Booked

The house was doubled booked and I’m waiting to hear back from VRBO after speaking to someone on Thursday 10/27 and have heard nothing. House was confirmed and address was given and when I contacted the owner for directions to get into the house less than 30 hours prior to OUR confirmed stay I was told they were sorry to inform me but that house had been booked back in June on another site! We had confirmation over three weeks prior and our credit card WAS charged and we had no where to stay for a weekend fishing classic with our club!!!! The owner has YET to refund my money!

Cozy but lacking

Cozy & quiet… but was lacking some things: One of the bedrooms didn’t have hangers or a rod to put them on in the closet. The small bathroom didn’t have any cabinets or shelves to put items on or in. The other bedroom had a dresser but if you don’t hold on to each drawer when you open it the drawer tilts down & will fall out. Has great potential!
