“Room was clean and refurbished but let down by the bathroom The toilet was badly located and toiletries insufficient ( particularly as there was nowhere to shower in spa) due to no changing rooms being available Parts of the hotel have been refurbished and are lovely although often just superficial but the other parts are very tired and and unloved. “We stayed at Armathwaite Hall for one night and it was superb. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and little touches made our stay very memorable such as a glass of prosecco on arrival and a card and some chocolates in my room for my birthday. We stayed in a Club room which was very spacious. We ate in the dining room which was pricey but the food was exquisite so worth the money. “Fabulous, beautifully decorated bedroom with nice toiletries and refreshments tray. Breakfast was amazing, local ingredients (quality), tasty fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice and a surprise Easter egg on Easter Sunday. They think of lovely touches like complimentary cake in the afternoon. Have stayed in lots of places in Keswick but this place is the best. Definitely returning next year. Also staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They make you feel special ”
