My husband grew up seeing this place and always wanted to stay here. So when he had to go back up to Michigan I thought it would be a nice surprise to book him a room here. First of all they said they had no rooms available. This was after booking the reservation (through Expedia). They all of a sudden managed to come up with a room - room 330 which was apparently akin to the janitor's closet. I *specifically* paid extra for a city view. He was on the third floor and his view was of the building across the street. Many areas of the room were dirty such as the table and counter spaces. The refrigerator only went down to 50 degrees. And was missing a leg. A guy came up to look at it, 'reset' it and it still only had 3 legs and went down to 50 degrees. The first night he only slept under the blanket but the second night he went under the sheets and spent most of the night not sleeping and scratching himself raw. He is covered in itchy bites of some sort. After the lack of responsiveness on the refrigerator issue he felt there was absolutely no point in taking this up with the front desk, especially since he was checking out this morning anyway. I spent quite a bit of money to do this for him and he could have stayed at the Super 8 and had a better experience and saved me a pile of money.
