Cajun moose searching travelers

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful property, the fire pit, the spaciousness of the relaxing den and porch. The location was great. We were visiting in the off season but did enjoy having the place to ourselves. If we could suggest some improvements, the mattresses could be replaced as well as the pillows. Plastic cups would be useful for outdoors too. We would return again to enjoy this beautiful place.

Great Location

Cabin was very nice and clean. Nice proximity to town. WIFI was solid and very fast. Backyard was beautiful and nice space to relax. Lots of room to spread out. AC worked well and cabin stayed nice and cool.

Fabulous stay!

Beautiful get-a-way on Moosehead Lake! Accommodations were outstanding , owners have thought of everything! Easy lake access and the yard was perfect for outdoor activities. We enjoyed our stay.

Fall Cabin

Great spot- walking distance to town, or just hang at the house all day. Plenty of firewood- just bring a starter log if it’s damp! The 3 season room was our favorite and where we spent most of the time.

Outstanding

An outstanding property in a great location. Beautiful house and very cool layout - very open while also having very cozy nooks. The outdoor screened-in porch is as cool in person as it looks in the ad. We spent many bug-free nights enjoying the sights and sounds of the lake. The view is amazing and the proximity to downtown an access to the lake is as good as it gets. We rented a boat for 2 days of our stay and I would highly recommend it. The lake is almost more accessible by boat than by car, and having a dock right on the property to call home base made renting the boat the best decision we made during our stay.

Beautiful perfect property

While I understand property protection i Would have appreciated informed consent to indoor cameras. Not all medical special needs can be attended to in the privacy of a bedroom or bathroom and privacy was assumed inside the home during our stay.

Moosehead Lake rental

My family stayed here for a week. The spot is gorgeous! Right on the lake with a dock and just minutes from down town. The house itself was nice but the beds were extremely uncomfortable and were definitely not queen size. Also, the grill didn’t work. Only 1 burner turned on.

Bittersweet experience

Pros: Enjoyed the plentiful space considering that we had three generations of family in the lodge. Big, functional kitchen. Huge screened-in front porch. Right on the water with a dock for our boat. Used the fire pit and the grill almost every day. Also loved the room to leave shoes and gear as we came back from hikes and other day adventures. Cons: the property was not ready at the time promised. We had no communication regarding this and, coming from Texas, we had nowhere else to go while the cleaning crew scrambled to get the lodge cleaned and ready. We also had access to very few towels. We were provided only one per person for a week-long rental and no towels were provided for the lake at all. There is also no place to put trash and recycling and no instructions to be found regarding this anywhere. We had bags of trash and returnables piling up in the screened-in porch area the entire week. The lodge owner “Tony” provided shelves full of movies on VHS and also posted signs about not stealing from his movie collection, which felt awkward and unnecessary. To boot, the VCR is neither hooked up nor functional. Be aware that there are only two small window air conditioners and they cannot possibly cool the entire lodge. The bedroom/bathroom on the very top floor was uncomfortably warm even at night with the windows open. Be prepared for lots of signs about what you cannot use/access/touch/take, but not a single sign welcoming you. Lastly, the lodge is very close the main road, train tracks, and a large restaurant/bar, so know that there will be plenty of noise from traffic, trains, and voices carrying across the water from the bar. Overall, disappointed in our experience, especially considering the price. In all our years of renting vacation homes, we have never left negative comments about a property. But there were just too many let downs with this place. Next year, we will look for a quieter location that is managed by friendly people who are happy to share their space. Tony made it clear that he is doing renters a favor by allowing people to stay in the lodge. You’ll see signs regarding this as well.

Great weekend in Greenville

The property is perfect and location is perfect. The issues we did have were minor ones. The dock was removed the week prior and we could not fish off the dock as planned. The thermostat controlling the fireplace was broken prior to our arrival and the fireplace was left running on low and kept the room warm during the hot Indian summer day. The downstairs queen bed was very uncomfortable and forced the guests staying there to sleep on the bunk beds. Highly recommended.

Great long weekend stay with family!

Moosehead Lake is a pristine location that is clean and refreshing. This was our first time in the area. The house is beautiful and very well-maintained. Amenities were great, with exception of some spotty Wi-Fi for one of our 4 days. The kitchen was well-stocked. The dock was the best part and a great spot for star-gazing at night. It’s only about 1 mile from the town center which has some shops and restaurants and rental facilities for kayaks, canoes etc. Lily Bay state park is only a 15 mon drive away. The only small issues were the downstairs shower where the door did not close fully and the window latch which didn’t close fully. Otherwise a great stay and a beautiful house!

Perfect for my family of 8

The house was beautiful. Everything worked perfectly. The house was spotless. Everything was prepared for us. We have 6 kids and the dock, the lake, the fire pit, and back yard provided endless amount of activities for us to do. We were authentically sad to leave. Even Bruce the landscaper was a joy to meet!!! Greenville is the best town as well!! We loved our experience and are booking our stay for the upcoming winter next week!
