We were 9 adults, a 1 and 5 year old, and the house was spacious, comfortable, and family friendly. The beach is probably the nicest on the island and less than 100 yards from your front door and perfect for children of all ages. Another plus is a great restaurant Daddy Joes, a walk away from the entrance to the property. The owner Geeta, was very accommodating and a pleasure to have delt with. All in all a 5 star stay.

Perfect getaway

I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful this trip was and the accommodations of the Moonflowers made it just that. Having the beautiful Gaulding Cay at our door step was second to none. From booking to arriving, staying and playing…10 out of 10 stars.

Will be returning!

Moonflower was perfect for our group of 6 adults and a 4 year old. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. The living room allowed all of us to gather easily and the kitchen has everything you need. Gaulding is a beach without parrallel and just steps away from the house. Young children can play for hours in the water. Communication with the owners has been great from beginning to end. The house is just a super comfortable place - we’ll be returning!

Fabulous home at the best beach

My wife and I have been to Eleuthera many times and got to bring two of our closest friends with us this time. Moonflower is spacious, airy, and well laid out for multiple couples. There's enough room to have privacy and come together in the common areas to have a good time. The entire process from reservation to (sadly) leaving and check-out was phenomenal and seamless. The house was so well kept, maintained, and clean that it felt welcoming every time we entered. Geeta and Christina were fantastic to communicate with when we had a couple questions. When a storm blew through for two days, it still felt like paradise because of how comfortable Moonflower was. While the house is a short walk (maybe 50-60 feet?) from the beach over a small rise, it made things feel more private and special. The gardens and landscaping around Moonflower were nice to walk through and just soak in the sights, smells and sounds. Secluded in the back is a private gazebo to read and enjoy some peace and quiet to doze in the sun away from others. Gaulding Cay beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and easily accessible. Snorkeling around the Cay itself was great at high tide as all the schools of fish came in. All the other diverse fish, sea fans, corals, and sponges just add to the experience. Thank you so much for helping make our trip amazing and giving our families a wonderful place to call home for a short time!

Fabulous Spring Break

Wonderful Stay!

Moonflower was a very good experience

The Moonflower was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Directions to the house were accurate and easy to follow. The house was representative of the pictures and the content list. The grill apparently takes charcoal, something we didn't have but could have gone to the grocery store to get. I contacted Lady Di a couple times during our stay and she was quick to respond. We did see locals hanging out on the public beach In front of the house and none of them were an issue. From reading other reviews we need to expect that this was not a private beach and that was okay with us. A few people per day came. There are several neighbors who own dogs and they are all very friendly. I was able to drag a straight back chair down to the beach each morning to enjoy my coffee. All of the other lounge & reclining chairs around the house and at the far end of the property under a gazebo were chained with padlocks so I couldn't move them. For an island that boasts near 0% crime, the message that chained up chairs send is that this is not a safe place. It wasn't just inconvenient. I don't suppose it mattered because there weren't any cushions. It was appreciated that there was plenty of snorkel equipment available so we cleaned some off and used it. Next time we are on Eleuthera we would definitely consider staying at the Moonflower again.

Beautiful Location

We had a wonderful week at Moonflower. We travelled with three adults and three children, ages 9, 6, and 4. The house is very spacious and there was plenty of room for everybody. It's also very close to the beach. The pictures made it a little hard to tell just how close the beach is, but it's literally in the front yard. The beach was absolutely beautiful and we spent most of our time swimming and playing in the sand. The water was extremely calm and clear, almost like a swimming pool. It was great for our smaller kids, but if you enjoy boogie boarding or body surfing, you'll have to take a day trip to a different part of the island. The house shares a public beach access, so it got a little busy in the afternoons, but everyone that we encountered was extremely friendly. The house had plenty of pots and pans and cooking utensils, and we cooked all of our meals at the house. The caretaker, Lady Di was very welcoming and gave us a few pineapples that she grew herself. They were the best pineapples we've ever had! The house was a little warm when we arrived, but it cooled down quickly and stayed nice and cool for our entire stay. Drinking the tap water isn't recommended, so the house comes with a dispenser and a 5 gallon water bottle. We only had about 3/4 of a bottle to start, and our family went through almost a whole 5 gallon bottle each day, so we had to make multiple trips to the store to get more water. The house has wifi, but it runs off of a mobile hotspot, so it's pretty slow. During our stay we took trips to the Queen's Baths, Preacher's Cave, and we also took the ferry over to Harbour Island. All of those places were incredible and highly recommended! Overall, it was an amazing trip, and we'd definitely stay at Moonflower again.

Perfection!

If you want to lower your blood pressure and have your toes in the sand from sun-up to glorious sun-set, this is the spot for you! It was the perfect beach house for our party of 8 (four couples, all family). We can't wait to return!

Christmas 2021

We rented as a Christmas present to our young adult children since it’s not often we can get the entire family together anymore. The house served our large party well, all ten of us. The location is convenient to other natural sights and the water is beautiful, clear and calm. The neighboring homes are friendly and welcoming and the nearby restaurant is great and just a short walk away. Lady Di, the caretaker is quite a character and a local legend. She was so kind and helpful. The island itself is more scenic than most of the out islands and getting supplies is easier than many as well.

Beautiful!

We had a wonderful week at Moonflower with our boys (6, 9, 9, and 12). The beach was gorgeous, the house was well-appointed and the grounds were beautiful. Lady Di met us upon arrival to show us around and was available when we had any questions. We will definitely miss her!. The beach had calm waters, great for swimming, snorkeling by the rocks or island, or kayaking. The sunset from the beach couldnt be better. The water was incredibly clear and warm. The location was great- a walk from Daddy Joe's, close to the window bridge and Queen's Bath, short drive into Gregory Town, to Rainbow Bay Beach or Gov. Harbour. You can get to the airport, Gene's Dock or Three Island Dock in no time at all. I can't say enough about the house. Plenty of room for all of us and more. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful and easy

Moonflower was perfect for our family. The property managers, the caretaker and the owner from start to finish could not have been more wonderful. The house is roomy and comfortable. It is exactly as pictured FYI. AC worked great, beds comfy, kitchen well appointed, plenty of towels and extra bedding. WiFi sufficient for vacation needs and water pressure in showers great. The beach was beautiful and steps away. The house is right behind public access to the beach and people will park there too. It didn’t bother us. We will definitely go back.

Accommodating, well kept home on fabulous beach

Moonflower is located on a gorgeous cove. Powder soft sand, gin clear water, sand dollars, starfish, and an abundance of coral and fish make it a beach lovers dream. Pine trees create a natural shade area. The beach is public and locals come out to have a beer and watch the incredible sunsets. The house is very comfortable and well furnished and maintained. There are plenty of floats, kayaks and a hammock as well as lounges. The gentle shallow waters and single story house are great for a wide range of visitors. Most of the time you share the beach with few if any others but on one occasion there was a large birthday barbecue right in front of the house, which is also public property. The partygoers were very friendly, invited us for drinks, and were gone by 9:30. What at first seemed an intrusion was in fact an invitation to a great time. We had a wonderful 2 weeks at the house and would definitely stay again. It's pretty perfect!

Magical Place

We (2 families, ages 7-47) made many adventures out during our one week stay at Gaulding Cay, Moonflower house. We were re impressed every time returning to Gaulding Cay/Moonflower a.k.a. homebase each time! We loved our stay here! Perfect for all ages. We had read most of the reviews prior to our visit to Moonflower to take notes. A few folks mentioned Moonflower being on or near a local beach but rarely seeing anyone. We did have visitors just about every day which took us by surprise initially. Some were locals and some were vacationers, neither were troublesome and didn't stop us from having the best vacation ever!

Pure Happiness April 8 - April 16 2017

Our favorite out of 3 trips with another couple and their two kids. We loved the house, the beach, location. The house layout perfect for 2 families, kids had their own rooms (although could have shared if more kids), master bedrooms good size (pretty much only slept there) kitchen spacious, well stocked, dinning room and living room spacious, all open with high ceilings. Lovely view to wake up to every morning for a cup of coffee before heading out to beach. Lots of toys; kayak and inflatable kayak and floats and fins for enjoying the water (bikes but we did not use). Nice large gas grill for cooking up fresh caught fish (we did an afternoon fishing charter Spanish Wells Fishing (picked us up at James Point) and caught a feast) and beef loin brought over by the other couple, hamburgers and hotdogs for lunches. Great location, (wish we'd made it to Queens Bath which is so close but too windy the entire week) for home base and to just enjoy lounging on the beach or kayaking, swimming, looking for shells, so much to do right there. The beach is public but never crowded during our stay, everyone in like mood, happy. The neighbors all very gracious and helpful if need. So much more to explore on the island still, found new places this trip and revisited our usual, Lighthouse Beach and much in between. Only wish we'd made it over to Spanish Wells and Harbour Island but ran out of time!!! Final note, Lady Di a jem and taken over the best local hot sauce lead, for us, she makes homemade jams also. Can find at many gift shops (Island Made Gifts in Gregory Town a must stop regardless and the ice cream shop next door) and restaurants. We are all ready to go back, so hard to leave (just left April 16). Highly recommend!!!!

Marvelous Moonflower memories, hard to leave a place like this, so peaceful and breathtaking!

We rented for 5 nights and felt so at home here. Plenty of room in the home, tastefully decorated with Island art and treasurers. The mood was set on relaxation mode from the moment you woke up till you went to bed. The beach and water of Gaulding Cay is unparalleled. Daily swims, snorkeling and hiking adventures helped us to work off the libations and meals that we consumed while in residence. Lady Di's family did more than take care of all our needs and questions with speed and kind Bahamian hospitality. Bags of fresh tomatoes, arugula, bananas, fresh flowers in vases and adorning our beds were just magical touches! When we ran out of propane more was delivered. Now to just plan our return trip to Eleuthera and Moon Flower, it can not come soon enough!
