Hof Eckhorst, Sonnenschein Apartment

A warm welcome to Hof Eckhorst, where you’ll find our comfortable vacation apartments in the countryside. We’re located here at the narrowest point between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, between Schleswig and Eckernförde, and between the Schlei and the Hüttener Berge Nature Park. The apartments are individually decorated with themes such as the Baltic Sea, sunshine, and romantic Tuscany.
You’ll meet other guests in our barn hall or the fragrant wellness area with a sauna and a dream bath for two. Enjoy the summer by the lake or find peace and relaxation on the “dreamer’s bench” under the oak tree. You’ll hear the rustling of the leaves, smell the plants, and watch a contented herd of mares. We look forward to welcoming you!

Vacation with your own horse, riding lessons: Would you like to bring your own horse, or ride one of ours? Whether you’re interested in riding lessons or trail rides through the beautiful countryside, you’re very welcome here! Our riding facility offers: a 20 x 60-meter indoor arena, a 50 x 80-meter jumping arena, a 20 x 60-meter outdoor dressage arena, 2 lunging circles, a fenced-in galloping track, small cross-country jumps, and a water crossing. We host training courses and regular events.

Our horse breeding program: At Hof Eckhorst, we love Hanoverian horses. Our year revolves around the horses. In the spring, the pregnant mares foal in the stables, while others are bred by the stallions through natural mating or artificial insemination. The grazing season begins in May, and both the foals and the broodmares spend day and night in their pastures. This is also when our competition season begins. The horses, which have been broken in over the winter, make their debut at events and competitions. This continues through September. Then the horses return to the stables. You’re welcome to experience this with us. We look forward to seeing you!

Sonnenschein Apartment
The Sonnenschein Apartment is a 5-star vacation rental, wheelchair-accessible, and decorated in warm colors. In the living area, cream-colored leather sofas sit on light-colored laminate flooring. Here, you can snuggle up among the many pillows and listen to the crackling of the wood-burning stove, or retreat to one of the two bedrooms with their cozy double beds. Relax with a soothing, fragrant bath under the starry sky in the spacious bathroom. A separate restroom and a small storage room complete the apartment.
Whether you’re enjoying breakfast or taking in the view of the romantic, rolling countryside, you’re sure to feel right at home on your loggia.
The fully equipped kitchen invites you to indulge in a feast.
For special meals, we’d be happy to provide you with a fondue set, a raclette, or a wok.
We provide one internet connection per apartment for your computer.
Bedding and towels are provided.

Bathroom:
The bathroom, with its large shower, is also barrier-free, making it suitable for wheelchair users. The large bathtub has a centrally located spout, allowing two people to enjoy a wonderful bath together. Above the bathtub, you can illuminate an artificial “starry sky.” The two sinks, built-in cabinets, and toilet round out the amenities.

Activities and Tips: An information folder designed by us is available in every apartment. Here you’ll find important information about nearby attractions, special events, and tips. The sauna area is free every Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We offer massages, medical foot care, nail care, and osteopathic treatments provided by certified specialists right here on-site.
