NEW LISTING! Stay at Lucky Catch and you’ll feel like the lucky one at this hilltop retreat! New construction completed in 2024, with all the modern amenities you crave. You’ll love cooking at the 48 inch dual fuel Wolf Range with two convection ovens and an indoor grill and restaurant quality Wolf exhaust hood, plentiful porcelain countertops, oodles of light – open to the living room with a 65 inch Frame TV, original art and décor, custom window treatments and motorized sunshades to let in natural light, and a dramatic Nana Wall – a four panel (10 feet) folding glass wall opening to the veranda and back yard. Twenty-eight-foot cathedral ceilings with fans, Malm gas fireplace, and unique catwalk make this “Great Room” a great place to be any time of day. Bedrooms with furniture chosen by JKA Design of San Francisco and the primary suite upstairs with vaulted ceilings, designer lighting, and private balcony. A laptop ready workspace in each bedroom and highspeed wifi.
Outside, a covered 30 by 12 ft veranda – protected from the elements with shade/privacy panels - shows a touch of Southern charm and includes an antique European oak dining table, ceiling fans, and seating area overlooking the seasonally heated 32 by 14 ft in ground pool and hot tub with motorized safety cover. The custom (12 ft by 12 ft by 12 ft) pergola/wellness room sits across the pool with additional shaded seating (or bring yoga mats for sunrise meditation and practice). Around the pool, lounge chairs, further seating areas, and a 10 sq ft Serena and Lilly Monterosso cantilevered umbrella, Weber Genesis gas grill, and citrus and palm trees round out your resort-like retreat. Privacy fencing and panels lend a feeling of seclusion within this quieter residential neighborhood.
Know Before You Book:
Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Lucky Catch is 8 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times. This is a very quiet residential neighborhood.
A Note About Our Cleaning Fees: Thank you for supporting our local business! When you stay with us, you support local families at work. We think everyone deserves a decent living wage, and we make sure to set the rates and fees so that our cleaners earn a living wage in beautiful Sonoma County.
Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles on the paved driveway. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance. There is no street or shoulder parking.
Bed Sizes: Upstairs primary bedroom: King bed, Queen sleeper sofa; Downstairs first bedroom: two twin beds; Downstairs second bedroom: Queen bed; Living room: Queen sleeper sofa.
Heating: Lucky Catch utilizes central heating and A/C plus a mini split upstairs in the primary bedroom. Bathrooms have additional radiant floor heat. There is a Malm gas fireplace in the living room.
Cooling: Lucky Catch utilizes central A/C plus a mini split in the upstairs primary bedroom. There are also ceiling fans throughout the home and screens on all windows.
Kitchen: In addition to the usual appliances, Lucky Catch’s kitchen includes a dishwasher, high-end appliances, and lots of extras. Just bring groceries.
Bathrooms: Upstairs primary bathroom: shower with Mr. Steam; Downstairs first bedroom: shower; Downstairs second bathroom: Shower over bathtub.
Location: Lucky Catch is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park only in the paved driveway in front of the house and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and local community! Neighboring homes are close but fencing and privacy panels provide excellent privacy for guests.
Cell Phones: Please be aware that many cell phones will not have service at this location. There is wifi and a house phone.
Road to Lucky Catch: There are several ways to reach Lucky Catch. The directions provided by most online maps take you up a steep, single lane road with two-way traffic. There are easier ways! We provide these detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests.
Stairs: Lucky Catch is a two-story home with 3 steps from the parking area to the front door and from the back deck to the yard. Two bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and most common areas are on the ground level. There is a flight of stairs to the second story primary bedroom and bathroom. Please look through the photos if stairs are a concern.
Pet Friendly: This home welcomes up to 2 well-mannered dogs. If you have more than 2 dogs or other types of pets, please contact us to see if exceptions can be made before reserving.
Fencing and Pool Safety: The backyard is fully fenced, but we always recommend checking the fence line before letting your dog off-leash. The hot tub and pool have a safety cover that can only be opened with a switch at the house, behind a lock. Guests are provided with the key. Please review the in-home instructions before opening and closing the pool cover.
Pool/Hot Hub Heating: The pool is kept in swimmable condition year-round, but is heated from mid- May to mid-September, only. When heated, the temperature is around 88 degrees. The pool has a solar heater, so the heating depends on the abundance of sunshine and weather in the area. The hot tub is built into the pool and is heated year-round, and you can adjust the temperature during your stay. Instructions are provided for the hot tub and safety pool cover.
Security: For the safety of guests and the home, there is a security camera outside - facing the parking and entry of the property.
Work from HERE: Lucky Catch has three laptop-ready workspaces - one in each bedroom. A desk, chair, desk lamp, and adjacent outlets or power strip are provided for each, so multiple guests can work comfortably and separately. Advertised Wifi Speed: 1,100 mbps download
A Note About TV: The Frame Smart TV in the living room has Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, and hundreds of streaming channels. Guests are welcome to bring their login info for these apps. There is also cable provided.
EV Charger: There is a locked level 2 Tesla charger. Details provided in the home for guests.
Solar Panels, Battery: If the power goes out – you’ll still have electricity while the back up battery runs important appliances and lighting.
Driving Distances: Proximity to wineries: Korbel Winery is 3.3 miles and oodles more within a short drive and an additional 5 minutes to Westside Road for more world class vineyards than you can visit in a weekend. Nearest River Beach: Johnson's Beach is the closest river beach, 0.4 mile walk, and all around fabulous place to enjoy the river, rent boats, inner tubes, beach umbrellas, and grab a beer and bite to eat - when they are open for the season. Otherwise, you can wander the beach, but the boats and concession stand will not be available. Dogs are not allowed at Johnson's Beach when they are open for the season. Nearest Ocean Beach: There are many ocean beaches along the Sonoma coast, but one of the closest is Goat Rock State Beach just south of Jenner – 13.4 miles from the house. One of the beaches at Goat Rock is dog-friendly. Distance to Downtown Guerneville: 3 minute walk; 0.2 mi. Northwood Golf Course: 3.5 mi. Distance to Santa Rosa Airport: 15.2 mi.
