Welcome to Wanderwood - a handsomely renewed craftsman home. Nestled among the majestic redwoods and just minutes from downtown Guerneville and the Russian River, you'll appreciate special touches like vintage light fixtures, antique glass windows, reclaimed old growth redwood, and period brass doorknobs. Spend days and evenings on the considerable deck and terrace overlooking the Russian River Valley. Cozy up to the woodstove in the stylishly appointed great room. Soak in the hot tub set into a fairy ring of redwoods. Enduring rustic interiors serve as the perfect backdrop for your wine country getaway.

Upstairs you'll enjoy the full kitchen and formal dining room, sun-soaked office, living room, small water closet, and access to the main deck and hot tub area. Downstairs, three bedrooms, a second living room, and full bathroom with jetted tub allow you to spread out or gather during your retreat.


Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Wanderwood is 6 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

Parking: There is parking for 2 smaller cars or one larger vehicle in a dedicated (gravel-lined) spot at the bottom of the stairs. Please be careful to pull vehicles fully off the road to allow room for everyday traffic and emergency vehicles. There is very skinny "shoulder" parking on the same side of the street as the house if you are very careful - this won't work for everyone. Parking is very limited in this neighborhood. We recommend carpooling as much as possible. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Heat Source: There are individual baseboard and electric heaters in each bedroom plus a woodstove in the upper living room (firewood and kindling are not provided) and mini-split heater and A/C units in each living room upstairs and downstairs. The gas fireplace in the downstairs living room photos is disabled and will be removed soon.

Cooling: There are two mini-split heating and A/C units - one in each living room - upstairs and downstairs. There are also portable fans in each bedroom closet and for common areas.

Location: Old Monte Rio Road is a narrow, one-lane country road - you may need to pull over for oncoming traffic. The road is paved but not necessarily smooth. Additionally, the surrounding side streets are narrow and steep with little to no street parking or shoulder.

Stairs: Wanderwood is a two story home - uphill from the parking area. There are approximately 30 stairs, with several landings, from the parking area to the front door and 16 stairs from the lower level of the home to the upper level of the home. The bedrooms are downstairs with a living room and full bathroom while the kitchen, dining, office, 2nd living room, and powder room are upstairs. There is a path up the hill to the hot tub.

Fencing: The property as a whole is not fenced, but the upper deck and lower porch and yard are fully fenced. The yard in front of the house is great as a dog run.

Security Cameras: For the safety of guests and the home, there are two exterior security cameras at the front porch and back deck for the gated entry.

Common Amenities not included: The water closet upstairs does not have a sink.

Proximity to wineries: The closest tasting rooms are in downtown Guerneville (1.6 miles), but there are many, many vineyards and at-winery tasting rooms within 10 miles of the house.

Nearest River Beach: The nearest river beach is a neighborhood beach in Guernewood Park - 0.8 miles from the house. Parking is limited.

Nearest Ocean Beach: In Jenner, 12 miles away.
