FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many people are allowed at the home?
Eight. That is the maximum occupancy for this property, and it is a hard limit on how many people may be at the home at any time — not just how many sleep here. Everyone must be listed on the reservation. If you reserved for four people, only those four may be at the property. No visitors, no drop-ins, no one stopping by. This isn't us being difficult — it's our insurance, our permit, and our neighbors, and exceeding it can end a reservation with no refund. If your plans change, message us before anyone else arrives and we'll tell you what's possible.

Can I add someone to the reservation after booking?
Yes, as long as the total stays at eight or fewer. Message us with their name and we'll update the reservation before they travel. What we can't do is approve someone after they're already at the house.

Is there a security deposit, and what is it for?
Yes — a $300 refundable security hold. It covers exactly two things: damage to the property, and violations of the house rules. Nothing else. It is not a fee, it is not extra rent, and it is not income to us. This works the same way a hotel places a hold on your card at the front desk.
You'll authorize it when you sign the rental agreement. It's placed 2 days before you arrive and released 7 days after checkout when no damage is reported.

I'm using a debit card. My bank shows the hold released and then charged again — what's happening?
That's your bank's process, not ours. Every bank handles authorization holds differently, and some release and re-place a hold one or more times during a stay. We have no control over that and no visibility into it. You don't need to call your bank about it and you don't need to follow up with us.
Here's what matters: Magnolia does not receive any money from a hold. The only way funds actually leave your account is if we withdraw against the deposit — and that never happens without notifying you first, with an explanation, before anything is taken.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 4:00 PM. Check-out is 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out is $25 per hour when we're able to accommodate it — just ask, and we'll tell you honestly whether the cleaning schedule allows it.

We're arriving late. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Your door code works from 4:00 PM onward and doesn't expire at night, so an 8 PM or midnight arrival is fine. Send us a message with your ETA so we know you're on the road.
Can I book if I'm under 25? The verified account holder must be 25 or older and must be present for the entire stay. We can't accept a relative's ID in place of the person booking — but someone 25 or older is welcome to book and travel with you.

How does the thermostat work?
The system has limits set so the unit doesn't ice up in Gulf humidity, so it may not go below a set point on a hot afternoon. Give it time to catch up after arrival and keep exterior doors closed. If it won't hold temperature, message us — we'll send someone rather than leave you guessing.

Something broke or isn't working. What should I do?
Message us. Truly — a drawer handle, a slow drain, a burnt-out bulb. Nothing is too small, we don't charge for normal wear, and we'd much rather fix it while you're here than read about it in a review.

How close is the beach?
One block. You can walk it. The veranda has water views, and there's a game room in the house for the afternoons you'd rather stay in.

Where do we put the trash?
Tie off full bags and place them in the outside garbage can. Pickup days are listed in your digital guidebook, which we send before arrival.

Is the house good for a work crew or long stay?
Yes — we host crews working Gulfport, Biloxi, and Ocean Springs regularly, up to the eight-person maximum. Message us with your dates and headcount and we'll quote you directly.
