Hard to find; Not much to do
After staying here, we realized why most people take the road to Hana and go back the same day: Virtually no amenities in Hana. We had trouble even finding food. Even the food trucks were closed! Finding the property was also difficult. We turned on the right driveway, but then there is a fork with no directions. The fork on the right goes down an unmaintained goat trail don't go that way. Signs are pretty cheap - put up a sign please! The property itself is wonderful, but since the location is bad due to lack of amenities, this property it WAY over priced.

It's beautiful house! And is close to black beach. We enjoyed our stay there. The only inconvenience is the wifi in that area was often disrupted, on and off. On the first day there was no wifi for the whole day, which we were told due to the disconnection issue of the whole area.

We had to leave the windows open and use fans because the house did get a bit stuffy. Because of the open windows, bugs find ways to draw themselves inside the house. I understand that the bugs are quite inevitable when it comes to the tropical weather and where the house is located. Hopefully, an AC might help with that in the future. Other than that, the tropical views around the home are stunning and beautiful, especially during the sunrise and sunset. The exterior of the house is very pretty. It's very charming when you turn on the lights outside the deck at night. Overall, the house is cozy. The hosts (Brad and Robin) are also efficient at communicating and answering my questions. We had a great time in Hana. Driving along Hana road and through the jungle and green mountains is such a breathtaking and unique experience. Mahalo Brad and Robin!

Hana home away from home
Astounding. Huge private space covered in lime, orange, banana and coconut trees. View of the ocean from the lanai. Much bigger and more accommodating than anticipated. You could feel the love in this house. We were comfortable and the kids loved it.

Amazing Stay!
Pictures don’t do this house justice!! Wind flows through with a wonderful breeze. The beds are very comfortable and the couch feels like your lying on pillows. Large unoccupied area around the house provides privacy. I will definitely be booking in the future. Thanks for sharing your amazing property.

Our stay was lovely! The house was clean, contained everything we needed and was in a perfect location. The house itself was private, but close to everything in Hana. We comfortably slept our family of five and used it as a home base for our daily swimming & hiking adventures. We are grateful to the owners for sharing their piece of paradise with us!

Perfect Hana House
My husband, 8 and 5 yo daughters, and MIL stayed here for one night to break up our self-guided reverse road to Hana drive. It's a charming house on very large, beautiful grounds. It feels like you are staying in a botanical garden! It's located just a 5-8 minute drive from the dining and Hana sights. So we were able to wake up and be some of the first people at Waianapanapa State Park to enjoy everything without crowds. It cools down very nicely with the fans. The owners responded to my texts within minutes and we're very gracious.

Stunning Property
My husband and I stayed in this lovely home for four nights and could not have been happier with this outstanding property!! The views and fruit trees were amazing! It was so quiet and peaceful. You could only hear the birds and light rain! We walked around the grounds and took in the beauty daily. We hope to be lucky enough to return soon!! trip review
Good host and would use again if I get to go back to Hana area. Only suggestion is to make the sign more noticeable or send photo when looking for the driveway for the first time. We were in two cars and both cars passed it up 3 times thinking the sign was a realtor for sale sign.

Ok if you like bugs
We are not clean nuts, but don’t like bugs and ants where we sleep and shower. We stayed at 3 other paces on Maui with no similar issues. While recognizing the rain forest local, there were an inordinate amount of ants, bugs and spiders around and in this house. Both showers had large amounts of ants and other bugs on the floor and walls. We arrived late and the master bath had only dim lighting, as the switch or slide bar was inoperable so we didn’t realize the extent of the critters until morning. The kitchen and bedrooms had the same level of bug presence. One bed had the remnants of a larger bug. Host indicated the cleaning crew had just been there and offered to come over and clean. We left a day early. No air, so windows open with fans, two of the portable fans were broken.

Hana House
We came in at night and although we found the property I would recommend making sure you get there before sunset. Although I was aware there was no air conditioning, I still think the house could have easily been cooler and more enjoyable if there were fully functioning ceiling fans and floor fans in each room. Be prepared for bugs, you are in the tropics. Lizards, cockroaches, spiders, ants, MOSQUITOS etc. The fruit trees are nice if you are lucky to come at the right time. When home, we spent as much time as we could on the lanai due to the heat. While I didn't hate this property, I would not return. Between the heat and the extra guests of the non-human variety, and the time it took us to actually get to the town of Hana- I would look for another property.

Beautiful spacious house and property that fully accommodated our family during our stay in Hana. It offered everything we could want, was covenient to the downtown area and was tucked into a very quiet, private area. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing vacation!
We came to Hana for my sisters wedding and a vacation. Brad and Robins home is amazing! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning. The fresh fruit growing on the property was great! Waking up and having breakfast on the patio watching the sunrise over the ocean was one of the best parts! The home was clean and organized and had everything you needed to cook any type of meal. We can not wait to come back!

Our family ranging in ages from 2 to 65 enjoyed three nights here. The home is in an excellent location with beautiful grounds. It is well equipped with just about everything you will need. The only thing I was not prepared for was the geckos and other creepy crawly things. That said, this was on me, not the property. Hana is in a tropical rain forest and these type of visitors are to be expected. Would rent again.

Beautiful home!
Very comfortable for a family of 6. 2 large, unadvertised sleeping lofts (one twin in a bedroom, another cal king above the kitchen) for a total of 5 beds. Large kitchen. Large screened in great room with dining table for 6, two couches and large TV. Feels like a large modern home in the middle of a rainforest paradise.. Picked fresh fruit from large, manicured backyard, added some papaya and bananas and made juice smoothies very AM using their vitamix. Great location: all of the following under 10 minutes: waianapanapa state park, lava tubes, Nihiku marketplace (get the fish at Island Chef), Coconut glens (delicious and vegan), hana airport (with skydiving for the brave). Get a reservation for the state park at least one day in advance, try the oceanside southern hike inside the park (see All Trails). Also try the fresh juice in the cooler at the small, unmanned roadside fruit stand across from high school. Definitely worth staying a few days to enjoy Hana area at a slow, unrushed pace. A "Road to Hana" daytrip does not do this area justice. We always do a few days in West Maui and a few days in Hana. Completely different feel, its like having 2 vacations. Incredible stargazing in Hana at night, they are so bright! So much to do! Also definitely purchase the Shaka or Gypsy guide for the drive (we got both, Gypsy is more up-to-date) Thank you Brad and Robin for an amazing stay!

Great Place to Stay in Hana
This spacious and beautiful home was the perfect end on the Road to Hana. We stayed 2 nights since we took our time on the journey from Kahului, and then went repelling the next day. The house is 5 min from “downtown” Hana and had a gorgeous view of the ocean.

We loved this Hana home! It was perfect for our family of 6. We had space, enjoyed using the well stocked kitchen and lounging on the porches with two stunning views. It was close to the state park (reservation required!) and not far from town with grocery stores and the beaches. Hosts were clear with communication, making check in and finding it as easy as a Hana breeze. We couldn't have asked for a better first time Vrbo experience.

Amazing!
What an amazing place! It’s a lot more spacious than I thought it’d be - especially for just four of us but the view was amazing, property had tons of fruit trees (though not in season when we stayed). Great water pressure, good wifi, and kitchen has all the necessities. Amazing to stargaze and see the Milky Way at night!

Great Getaway
This location was beautiful! It was a lovely little remote space just outside of Hana to really disconnect from everything. It was a little hard to find, the sign to indicate the driveway isn't posted for a driver to easily see until you drive past it, but otherwise we loved staying here. Since most things close early, we appreciated having a beautiful and comfortable space to relax in.

Really beautiful property, in a location that allows you to really take your time and enjoy stops along the road to Hana. Despite being right off the Hana highway, Hana Nautilus achieves a beautifully secluded atmosphere with gorgeous fruit trees (and ocean view!) The lanai is a great place to eat meals and just take in the surrounding. Bedrooms and bathrooms are thoughtfully designed with lots of practical features (lots of towel hooks!) And very clean. And for those who cant quite get a way from work-the internet access was great. Bradley was quick to answer any questions and had suggestions that really added to the trip. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Great House in a Great Hana Location
Five of us stayed at the home in the beginning of September and we had a wonderful time. The home is clean and well equipped for cooking although there is a nice restaurant just a little ways down the road. The beds were very comfortable and there was a ceiling fan in each bedroom making sleeping very comfortable. The home is on a huge property so it was very private and quiet. It is not in Hana proper but it is an easy drive to get to so the location was great. Our favorite thing about the property was the huge screened in family room. There are definitely bugs in Hana so being able to enjoy the fresh air and not worry about insects was fantastic. Bradley was a great host and we would definitely stay again.

Amazing Place
We had a magical 3 days in Hana. This home is located very close to Wai’anapanapa state park. We booked a 7am appointment and had the beach to ourselves. There are lots of fruit trees on the property. The owners even came by and opened coconuts for us and helped us pick fruit That was too high to reach. The home is gorgeous. All my family rated this property their favorite of all the places we stayed on the island. Lush tropical plants, a chill place to bbq or relax on the porch, a huge back patio room with a table that seats 8 comfortably. I can’t say enough about this home and the true Aloha spirit of the owners. We will definitely be back. One tip… bring bug spray. They had cans there but we used it all and they didn’t have any in town at the store. Some of us got eaten up the first evening. Wait until full dark before going outside to avoid the mosquitoes. It’s a gorgeous place to get away and really have a true Hawaii experience.

Amazing space, inside and outside
The listing says three bedrooms but there are also two lifts with beds for extra sleeping spaces. The property is amazing, inside is very spacious and comfortable. Outside is nicely maintained and the limes and kumquats grown on the property was a great bonus to our water and teas! The backyard views in the morning and night are amazing cause you are able to see the water. Lots of bugs at night but go outside and look at the moon and stars, the sky is lit! Recommend bug spray and outdoor bug candles/incense. There is no a/c but ample fans and very comfortable in the evening. Loved our stay here, definitely need to stay two nights to fully complete road to Hana without rushing.

DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER!
Private retreat, immaculate landscaping, private driveway, lots of fruit trees, beautiful view of the ocean…. The list goes on and on. We absolutely loved this property. The wifi was incredibly fast & easy to set up. The house was very welcoming and clean. We took advantage of the outdoor shower in the front after Hamoa beach, we loved that! We also grabbed some food at Hana Ranch Store and had a family cookout on the front porch on the barbecue. It’s the most peaceful place in Hana. Quick drive to Hana town. Not far at all. We will definitely be booking with Brad again, their hale is gorgeous! Writing this review is just making me miss this place so much more!!! Lol Mahalo Brad & Robin

The private home in Hana is tucked in a garden escape with views of the ocean from basically anywhere inside the house that faces east. Each bedroom has a lovely view of the ocean, and it was amazing to wake up to see the rays move across the view. The kitchen was also well-stocked for if you wanted to make your own food. It is a perfect base for relaxing escape in Hana. The only hiccup to our stay was the lack of internet access, as we needed to check-in for our return flight during our Hana stay. Cellular service (AT&T or Verizon) were nonexistent around the property, so outside communication depended on internet or the landline in the house. Unfortunately, the weekend we stayed had an area-wide internet outage for most of the weekend, so we were a bit stressed when internet access was not restored the day before our return flight. Thankfully, we were able to find decent cell service in Hana to check-in and get our mobile boarding passes. If we return to Hana and this home is available, we would stay again (and be mentally prepared for a lack of internet access).

This was a beautiful please for our family trip to Hana. There is a ton of room for a family and our kids loved the lofts. The location was central to everything we wanted to do. Being able to pick a ripe banana right outside the door was a bonus! We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Maui.

The house is in a perfect location, and all of Hana is at your disposal. We visited the Haleakala National Park, Black Sand Beach, Red Sand Beach, all the food trucks, and markets in the area. Robin and Brad were tremendous hosts and I can’t wait to come back to the Nautilus.

Perfect location to explore Hana
This was the perfect home base for the family as we explored Hana. Bradley was a great host and the house had everything we needed in a very relaxing environment. The front deck and back screen porch are an amazing place to relax after a day of hiking, beaching, and exploring the area. I highly recommend this for others wanting to take their time seeing what eastern Maui has to offer.
