Lake Robert, Bear Canyon Lake, the Gila River and many more waterways offer decent fishing. Nearby forest has many scenic picnic areas. The valley is a great place to learn about the Mimbres Culture with ancient ruins such as the Mattocks pueblo at the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site. The Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of the ancient Mogollon Pueblo culture. Throughout the area the awesome landscape provides many opportunity for photography and outdoor fun. The closest town Silver City is 20 minutes away.
