Oceanfront Cottage on a Quiet Cove Just Outside Lunenburg

Welcome to The Cottage on the Cove. This charming cottage has been completely renovated top to bottom in 2021. It is located right on the water on an in-shore inlet of the Atlantic ocean about 10 minutes from the town centre of Lunenburg. It has gorgeous water views from all of the main living areas. A new heat pump allows climate control (heat and air conditioning) for all weather conditions and guest preferences. The cottage can sleep six comfortably with two bedrooms (one queen, one double) and a queen-sized sofa bed in the living room. Linens are provided for all seasons and sleeping preferences (sheets, blankets, quilts & duvets). A full bath includes toilet, sink with vanity and tub/shower combo. Hair dryer & towels for the bath as well as beach towels for the shore are provided. The living room has ample seating with two sofas and two club chairs. An electric fireplace provides a nice ambiance for the occasional rainy evening. The entertainment system permits watching of DVDs (200+ provided for use) and listening to music. Bell FibreOp high-speed internet service including wifi is now available at the cottage for guest use. The indoor dining table (seats six) overlooks the water. The chef’s kitchen is well equipped for cooking and baking to your heart’s content. Full size refrigerator, electric range, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle, pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, flatware, glassware, wine glasses, baking pans and even a large lobster/mussel/clam pot are all provided. A full-size washer & dryer are also located in the kitchen. A clothes drying rack for outdoor use (for bathing suits and beach towels) has been installed near the cottage entrance. An expansive deck over-looking the cove includes areas for cocktails/lounging (with sofa, club chairs, lounge chairs and a coffee table), grilling on the brand new Napoleon BBQ, al fresco dining and star gazing. Two patio umbrellas (with stands) are provided to permit shade in the heat of the day. A stone pathway links the deck to a firepit patio with six colourful Adirondack chairs where you can lounge waterside in the daytime or have a campfire in the evening. Firewood and kindling are supplied. A stone pathway also connects the designated parking area to the cottage for easy transport of luggage. Four kayaks, four paddles and four lifejackets are provided for guest use. The waterways surrounding the peninsula on which the cottage is located are calm and perfect for paddling. When the tide is right, swimming/floating in the cove is a pleasant respite. The Cottage on the Cove is the perfect tranquil escape from the business of everyday life. Our guests tell us they are sad to leave on check-out day but that they will be back to see us again.

Frank and Val were amazing hosts - they've thought of everything. Lots of dishes/cutlery so you can have meals in to save a little money; lots of comfy seating, both inside and out on the beautiful deck; cozy blankets for cool mornings, comfortable beds... all in all, a wonderful place to stay.

Nice quiet spot on the water, yet close to amenities in Lunenburg. The cottage was clean, roomy, and super well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Hosts communication was great and we really enjoyed our time there!

Idyllic location and the cottage was exactly what we were looking for (woke up the first morning to an amazing view of the ocean and deer outside the window)! Clean and comfortable with so many great amenities. The hosts were fantastic with communication and we had such an amazing time there. A short but scenic drive to Lunenburg to be able to explore the harbour and see the Bluenose II, and try some great restaurants which was amazing.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this beautiful cottage. It is beautifully decorated, and very clean. I loved sitting and watching the water and the birds in the morning. It was very relaxing! If we were staying more than a few nights, it would be nice to have a place to hang some clothes, and it would have been nice to have even a few basic tv channels. I'd love to come back in the summer so we could fully enjoy the beautiful property.

This beautiful cottage has been recently renovated. Very nicely appointed! The laundry is a definite perk and the complimentary coffee, maple marshmallows and chocolate biscuits were lovely.The view is remarkable! Kayaks are available for a paddle from the launch area.Cottage is only 15 minutes from Lunenburg so quick access to shopping and dining.

This is a comfortable, accommodating home in a picturesque location. Great amenities with a well-equipped kitchen and washer-dryer. Well set up for indoor-outdoor living with a large deck and a conversation area with a firepit closer to the water. Easy access to Lunenburg restaurants and Blue Rocks. Bonus points for use of the kayaks and the premium scent-free toiletries.

Beautiful cottage on the water!

Great property! Well organized and equipped with everything you need (aside from a dishwasher). Just a short drive to Lunenburg. We loved kayaking right from the dock. The inlet is very calm and the kids loved exploring the islands and waterways.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The pictures accurately describe the house. The location was very relaxing and pretty. I worked remotely (with a great view!) and the internet was good for video calls. The house had plenty of everything we needed...towels, kitchen wares, etc. I tried the kayaks as well! I would stay here again!

We had a fantastic stay at this property! For the first time ever, the place actually felt larger than it looked in the photos. That was such a pleasant surprise. Everything was exactly as described in the listing, and the space was super clean and comfortable.The amenities really made our trip special: we enjoyed using the kayaks, relaxing on the spacious outdoor deck, and having the convenience of a washer and dryer right on-site. It was the perfect spot for both relaxation and adventure. We’d gladly stay here again!
