Hotel a Heworth Without

“Overall an OK stay but not worth the price tag. Visited at half term, hotel appeared under prepared. All staff were helpful and polite but clearly under staffed so not necessarily their fault. Room not ready 2 hours after check-in, walkways not maintained, dirty glasses and plates with food on outside a lot of rooms. 1 bath robe in the room for 3 guests, toilet in the room didn't flush and whole bathroom in need of basic repairs. Bar/restaurant stopped taking food orders at 7:20pm in school...

“i like the facility of structure”

“Room was big and clean with a lovely bed. Bathroom was ok but looking a bit tired. Parking was easy. Breakfast was great, everything you could want including omlettes. Didnt like the orange juice was more like orange squash. Public areas were modern and clean.”

“Very clean and comfortable hotel not too far from the centre of York. Large room with a great bed. Excellent breakfast. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Would stay again”

“A lovely, well run hotel with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was superb and the room clean , comfortable with everything you need. Thank you the Sandburn Staff!”

“This was one of the finest travel experiences my husband and I ever had to be underground yeah. At first we were disappointed because we thought we were going to be in the underground brick bunker room and we weren't we were just in a plain old underground room but when I talked to the staff about it they upgraded us to the most beautiful room I've ever seen with a huge copper bathtub, a four poster bed the most luxurious comfortable place we've ever stayed. The the food was superb, incredible...

“Ho avuto un piccolo problema risolto nel giro di cinque minuti. Abbiamo dormito bene e la colazione è stata buona”

“Un albergo molto confortevole e gestito con passione in una zona comoda per la stazione ed il centro cittadino. Una buona colazione. Edificio classico inglese.”

“Great experience. The building is quaint, cozy, with a unique design and interior decoration. Beautiful dining area and bar. The room (ground floor), was spacious and with a lovely art deco interior. Very nice shower with good water pressure, nice choice of shower gels and other amenities. The plumbing in the toilet was a bit iffy, but nothing too serious. Very comfortable bed, with soft pillows (this is my preference so I was happy with it). The building is very old, so the rooms can get a...

“Camera pulita un po’ piccola ma perfetta per un breve soggiorno parcheggio interno personale gentile”

“Buona posizione 10 minuti a piedi dal centro. Comodissimo parcheggio. Stanza basica con bagno. Sopra ad un pub.”

“Bella camera pulita e spaziosa. Un bell’hotel in una bella città. Zona silenziosa e centrale, comoda per negozi ,attrazioni e ristoranti.La colazione è buona e compresa nel prezzo. Il personale gentile ma non troppo disponibile. L’ ultimo giorno avevo il treno alle sette ed ho chiesto per avere la colazione da portare via ,visto che il sabato iniziano tardi, alle sette. Ci hanno dato un sacchettino piuttosto “imbarazzante”. Forse era meglio evitare…”

“Property lovely, high standard interior. Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly. Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off. We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink...
