Welcome to The Schoonmaker, a historic retreat thoughtfully updated with modern luxury in the heart of High Falls. The property features two beautifully appointed homes, each with three bedrooms, for a total of six bedrooms ideal for families or groups traveling together.



Explore the Hudson Valley then come back and unwind on the wellness deck overlooking a 12-foot waterfall, with a cedar hot tub and barrel sauna. Set on over 1,000 feet of creek frontage



The Space:

The two homes on the property are located about 50' from one another, both situated along the creek with a waterfall view. The larger home is known as the Schoonmaker House, and the smaller unit located along the creek and wellness deck was the original Coach House.

Please note, the wood burning fireplace in the Schoonmaker TV den is currently not operational. However, there is a lovely gas fireplace in the dining room for your enjoyment, in additional to the multiple wood burning fire pits outside. Thank you for your understanding.



Also note, there is a neighboring three season cabin that is never used but is located very close to the Schoonmaker House (the main house). This home is owned by our neighbor and not to be confused with our property.

❓FAQ’s

➤ Is the kitchen fully stocked?

Yes! The kitchen is equipped with all cooking essentials including stainless steel appliances, baking sheets, knives, seasonings, and thoughtful extras. A limited supply of whole bean coffee and tea is provided.

➤ Will we have the entire property to ourselves if we only need one unit?

Yes! When you rent the property, it is yours alone. No one else will be on or have access to the property during your stay

➤ Is this home family and dog friendly?

Absolutely! Please request prior to booking for special accommodations. Due to allergies, unfortunately we cannot allow cats.

➤ What about parking and check-in?

There are 5 dedicated parking spots available, and check-in is self-service via smart lock for your convenience.

You’ll have private access to the entire property for the duration of your stay. Check-in is self-guided using a personalized smart-lock code for both homes, making arrival easy and flexible. While we won’t be on-site, we’re always just a message away and happy to support you every step of the way during check-in and throughout your stay.

The Schoonmaker Retreat is in downtown High Falls and and within miles of downtown Rosendale, give you access to all of the essentials: Eat for NYC quality pizza at Ollies, shop for farm fresh groceries at the Co-Op, or shop for local gifts at the Green Cottage - all located less than a minute from the house!



Getting Around:

This location is absolutely perfect, in the heart of the Hudson Valley and within 20 minutes of the areas most coveted neighborhoods: Woodstock, Kingston, New Paltz, Accord.
