The whole of the structure is amazing, my room was nice, however I was put at the back of the hotel next to the restaurant and all night there was a buzzing machine sound. Not being a good sleeper at the best of times, it did affect my night’s sleep.

Booked fairly last minute, for a very good rate. The car park was easy to find, and plenty of spaces were available (even though accommodation fully booked out). Reception on arrival was excellent, and even tried to change our sleeping arrangements due to a change in our needs. Bar area has a "Happy Hour" 3pm - 6pm which was a rare find nowadays. Comfortable and inviting, with a separate dining area. This seemed quite popular, so the food must be good quality. The bedroom was well appointed, if somewhat dated and in need of some modernisation. The bed positioning in front of plug sockets was odd, and the sockets on the other side being a fair stretch away. Small TV, not smart, just regular channels. Bed was okay, not awful, but slept on better. Everyone has their own taste on firmness though. Heard no noise from room below or to either side of us, nor from the corridor. So, well insulated from that. Even the main road outside wasn't too bad, but we didn't open the window. It was approx 18 degrees overnight, and there was a pedestal fan in the room, however it was still quite warm. Bathroom was functional, just a bit tired. Would return, even with the improvements required. A little bit of cash spent on the sleeping accommodation would be great. I am sure a few trades who drink in your bar would swap free pints to help 'upgrade' some of the rooms. I know this hotel featured on "Four In A Bed" a few years back, so I am intrigued to watch that now, and compare my own experience.
