    Meno di un miglio da Main St. Highlands, Cardinal Cottage è facilmente raggiungibile a piedi dalla pittoresca Harris Lake. Dai da mangiare alle anatre o fai un po 'di pesca lungo la strada!  In pochi minuti sarai vicino a negozi, ristoranti e tutto ciò che la pittoresca cittadina di Highlands ha da offrire.


    Leggero e luminoso con un soggiorno aperto e una cucina rinnovata con tutti i nuovi elettrodomestici, godrai di tutti i comfort di una casa quando sei all'ordine del giorno. Rilassati davanti al camino o divertiti a guardare un gioco o un film sull'enorme nuova TV a schermo piatto.


    Proprio attraverso il soggiorno si trova una zona pranzo che conduce a un ponte di legno aperto con sedie a dondolo, un nuovo barbecue a propano e un tavolo da pranzo aggiuntivo.


    La grande camera da letto principale al piano superiore ha un letto king size, una poltrona trasformabile e un bagno rinnovato. La grande TV a schermo direttamente di fronte al letto rende comode e accoglienti maratone cinematografiche a tarda notte.


    Dall'altra parte della sala è la camera degli ospiti con un letto matrimoniale con un ulteriore bagno completo appena fuori dalla porta. Una lavatrice / asciugatrice nuova di zecca si trova in un armadio di servizio nel corridoio.


    Al piano inferiore si trova una caverna / sala giochi per bambini / tana con un'altra grande TV a schermo piatto e lettore DVD. Il divano può trasformarsi in un letto matrimoniale. C'è anche un altro bagno completo e un'altra camera da letto con un letto singolo.


    Fuori dal piano di sotto c'è un nuovo ponte che corre per l'intera lunghezza della casa. La metà è coperta, così puoi goderti un po 'di tempo all'aperto anche se piove. Rilassati in una delle chaise longue o sull'amaca e goditi la pace e la tranquillità che questa casa offre.



    Crea ricordi duraturi in questo affascinante cottage in posizione perfetta per tutte le meravigliose attività che la zona delle Highlands ha da offrire.

Great location!

Very clean property in a great location. So many nice touches including a well stocked kitchen with spices and some food items. We will definitely look to come back and stay here again!

My husband and I decided on a last-minute New Year getaway to Highlands, NC, and this charming cottage was the perfect choice. The home was well equipped, comfortable, and very conveniently located close to town. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided, making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. While the water pressure was a bit low, it did not take away from our overall experience. We will gladly stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We had a great stay at the cardinal cottage. It’s located 0.9 miles to town. The cottage looked like the pictures, and the Vrbo team did a great job communicating with us. Overall the cottage was clean, but could have been cleaner. The master bathroom had some mold in the primary shower. We had 6 family members staying at the cottage. Everyone was comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Great spot to explore Highlands

Grandkids caught their first fish- bring your own rods, grab bait at gas station lower end of town. Went to the towns market on Saturday morning and a great night if music and fun at the same park in the evening- bring soccer chairs or a blanket. We only used upstairs- kids slept on couches closer to parents.

Loved our time in Highlands

Overall the Cardinal Cottage was great for our family! The cottage is super close to Main Street which is great. The basement is more chilly than the house and our kids ended up sleeping upstairs on the couches. The baseboards in the kitchen and main bedroom bath kept on falling (they need to be secured in place), and the washer was a little tricky because it was filled with detergent but I am not sure if it is working the way it should. Overall a great place to rent.

Nice spot for first Highlands visit

Well-kept home about a mile from downtown Highlands (although not conducive to walking). Plenty of room for a family, smart TVs galore, lots of DVDs and a player on hand. Home was clean and beds were comfortable. Limited necessities in kitchen, i.e., salt & pepper, spices, wraps, etc., so be sure and bring your own. VRBO mentioned a pool, note that it is a couple miles away and costs a few bucks. Rental agency was responsive and easy to deal with; provided some welcoming treats and plenty of info, maps about area. Will definitely stay again!

Neat, clean inside; nice layout, great Master BR.Upper deck nasty; green mold on wrought iron table, same with grill cover. didn't even want to touch it. Lower deck looked like cleaning crew didn't know it existed.

Nice house, convenient location

Very good for 2 people, or a couple with 2 kids. Upper and lower level (kids' bunks) separated by steep staircase or different driveways. A little confusing to find main-level driveway, but fine once you're used to it. Main level has everything a couple needs, and everything works fine. Layout is a little different - e.g. picnic table in sunroom instead of dining table. Excellent, quiet location close to downtown.

Well located, well equipped, and well stocked mountain cottage

Cardinal Cottage is one of a very few vacation homes we’ve rented that is actually nicer than the photos on Vrbo. It is attractively furnished for adults yet comfortable for children. We can vouch that the cottage is indeed walking distance to downtown Highlands—we did it 3 times in 3 days with 4 grandchildren aged 3-9 to feed the ducks at Harris Lake, have breakfast at Mountain Fresh Grocery, and have dinner al fresco at Lakeside.

Nice getaway

Enjoyed our short visit with friends in this quaint home. Main floor has easy access from the upper driveway. Steep stairs inside to the lower level but manageable if you take your time. Overall, great stay for these 4 adults.

Cardinal Cottage is tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable. All essentials are provided including a Keurig. Property management was excellent. Great location near town.

Property was great and overalll we were happy.

Property was great and overalll we were happy. We found that the towels were clean upon arrival but did have a slight smell to them. Also the amenities of the property mentioned a keurig coffee maker but it did not have one. Water pressure in the showers was weak especially for the size of the master bathroom. Our favorite area was around the fire place and outdoor fire pit.

Clean and convenient

We had an issue with the heat on a super cold weekend, so we actually had to move houses(owner was super helpful once we were able to reach her), but we did stay here for a night. It’s got pretty much what you need, only concern is downstairs has no heat/ac (except for some wall heaters and fans) and the stairs are really steep(not ideal for kids), but for a couple, this place is decent.

Cozy Christmas in Highlands

We had a wonderful family Christmas stay at Cardinal Cottage. Loved the open floor plan, the view from the deck, and roasting marshmallows in the fireplace. The location was excellent - a nice walk to Harris Lake and even Main Street, otherwise, a 3 minute drive. Beds were comfortable and wifi worked like a charm. Can't wait to stay again!
