Highlands Hideaway 5 minutes to downtown

Come enjoy stunning mountain views in our beautiful home. We are located 3 miles from downtown Highlands. Our peaceful home is located on a private street and being the only house on this street, you will have complete privacy. We have 3 king bedrooms all ensuite. Perfect for families traveling together. The 4th bedroom is a kids dream bunk room.

Enjoy your morning coffee on our large back deck over looking the mountains. A perfect retreat after a long hike.

Newly added is the fire pit complete with a s'mores kit. Perfect for the chilly mountain evenings and enjoying the magical sunsets.

There were helpful books about the area! We enjoyed coffee on the expansive deck every morning and then the spectacular sunsets there are amazing!Gigantic bathrooms for each bedroom with King sized beds with luxurious sheets!

What a lovely home! The views were spectacular and the location was perfect. I rented the house for my annual college roommate reunion, and it was exactly what we were looking for -- a mountain feel with a closeness to town. The property was exactly as pictured and described. We had a small issue at check-in, but Jennifer was extremely responsive and got it taken care of very quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend this property.

This is an unbelievable home and I can't say enough about how awesome the owners are who rent this house. Everything online you see is accurate, and maybe even better.....the views are stunning and the house is full of so many open windows. The amenities were also amplified by the quality and personal detail that went into the home. When we arrived the host had left several snacks and things for smores, which was so nice. There was laundry detergent, dryer sheets, toiletries, a cabinet full of spices, condiments in the fridge....it was AWESOME. Beds were so comfortable and the sheets were so nice. It was very clean--and the house layout is just incredible. It almost looks like two houses that were put together. Everyone had their own wing with great bathrooms. Plenty of space to spread out.There were also great sitting areas inside and on the porch. The outdoor space with the firepit and adirondack chairs is where we spent most of the time and it was terrific. The proximity of the home is also so great. We were so close to downtown Highlands, Dry Falls, Glen Falls, and Whiteside Mountain Trail. Cashiers was a short, beautiful drive over for more attractions and restaurants. It was also very nice that we could bring our dog. We will be back. This is an awesome home that exceeded our expectations!! We can't wait to return!!! THANK YOU!!!

We had a fantastic stay at this peaceful, secluded retreat in the woods. The property was exactly what we were looking for—spacious, quiet, and surrounded by nature. It offered the perfect escape, with plenty of room to relax both indoors and out.One of the biggest highlights for us was how dog-friendly the home is. We brought multiple dogs and found it very accommodating—lots of space for them to roam and feel at home.Communication with the host was excellent—responsive, helpful, and easy to work with throughout the entire process.The location is private and serene, yet still within a reasonable drive of nearby attractions and amenities. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and truly quiet place to unwind with your dogs and loved ones, this is it. We would absolutely stay here again.

Outstanding experience all around. Jen was a fantastic, responsive, and gracious host. Home was beautiful, clean, and highly functional; in an absolutely stunning mountain setting. Could not have been more perfect for our particular needs- rooming a bunch of different family members visiting for a big highlands wedding! Great location

We stayed for two weeks with three generations and had plenty of room for everyone. The host, Jen, was so nice and quick to respond to questions. The teenagers had their own suite at the other end of the house which was great. Bathrooms are spacious and the bedrooms are quiet and comfortable. The house is located on a hill and has a great view. The neighborhood is private and quiet. We were there forGolf primarily and we were convenient to some very nice courses. The drive to Highlands is quick and easy and the town is fun and offers something for everyone. Dry Falls and Glen Falls are close by and spectacular! We would definitely stay there again.

Family Mountain Getaway

Loved the property which set up nicely for our family. Adult children and their spouses and our grandkids enjoyed time together, various restaurants in Highlands, watching football and the Highlands Outdoor center featuring snow tubing hill, ice skating and alpine coaster ride. Beautiful views from deck, plenty of quiet areas in home for reading. Ideal retreat.alpine

Great home for family vacation

This home is beautiful, the views are amazing and the host was responsive to all questions leading up to, and during, our stay. We enjoyed a multi-family vacation and there was plenty of space both indoors and outdoors for everyone. My only caution would be if there is ice or snow during your stay you will likely need 4-wheel drive to reach the property as there are some extremely steep climbs within the neighborhood. Fortunately, we had mild weather and it was not an issue. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing home just 1.8 miles from downtown Highlands and there are no homes beyond this one in the neighborhood and you have all the privacy in the world! Great rental!

Wonderful family holiday getaway spot!

Great house for our family to gather at from all over the country for Christmas. Tons of space to spread out but very homey places to gather so that we all felt close too. Spacious kitchen and dining room. Beautiful views from all over the house. We had one small question for the owner and she responded immediately and the caretaker took care of our concern and was helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful house!

We loved this home for so many reasons. The views might just be the best we’ve ever had in a mountain vacation home. The back deck is very large, with soft seating for 11 plus dining table and chairs for 10. The entire home is spacious and the bedrooms are large. The kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms are all large and efficient, and we loved the beautiful gated neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Excellent Stay

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Highlands Hideaway. It is located only a few minutes from downtown Highlands and was convenient for all activities. The house is very private( the only one on the street). We enjoyed the fire pit every night and the views were nice as well. Jen was very quick to respond to any inquiry. We will definitely book again!

Visiting for a family wedding

Beautiful home- on top of the mountain wonderful views FYI a very steep road to get there. House layout worked well with two separated upstairs areas. This allowed more privacy as we had a few groups of people. Overall great experience. Small cleanliness comment- two different sofas had cheerios & kid games were needing to be sorted & some thrown away. Would still recommend & would stay again.
