  • Whispering Woods è una baita di montagna a due livelli con lo stile di oggi incastonata in una lussureggiante foresta di rododendri. Cammina in città e tutto ciò che Highlands ha da offrire. Il livello principale offre un open space con cucina, soggiorno e zona pranzo, lavanderia e bagno di servizio. La camera da letto principale ha un letto matrimoniale e bagno privato. Il portico schermato si affaccia sul rododendro nativo che aiuta anche a fornire a Whispering Woods un ambiente privato. Il livello superiore ha due camere da letto e un bagno completo. Una camera da letto ha un letto matrimoniale e l'altra ha un letto matrimoniale e due gemelli, perfetti per visitare l'overflow degli ospiti. Accomodati al caminetto a gas nei periodi più freddi e goditi l'aria fresca di montagna sulla veranda protetta in estate. Whispering Woods è un'ottima base di partenza per scoprire le Highlands e gli eventi montani circostanti.

    Questa proprietà è IN città, ma l'ambiente è sereno e privato. A poca distanza a piedi da Harris Lake, un luogo ideale per un piccolo picnic o per osservare le anatre e le oche. Altre centinaia di gradini ti condurranno alla biblioteca, alle chiese, a Main Street e non dimenticarti di The Nature Center o di fare un'escursione su Sunset Rock: da lì puoi ammirare l'intera città.

The home was super cute, and just as pictured within the VRBO listing. It was very close to Main Street, which made it very convenient to go out and do activities. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, Tupperware, and an assortment of kitchen essentials which was really helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the bathrooms were stocked with towels. We had a wonderful time and would come back to rent again.

Lovely and peaceful mountain home tucked amongst the trees and laurels. The home was very clean upon our arrival. We enjoyed sitting on the spacious and comfortable screen porch to sip coffee each morning…what a peaceful setting. The kitchen was well appointed and dining table spacious to gather around. It was a quiet spot and very conveniently located close to town.

House is walkable to downtown Highlands which was perfect. Overall great spot with small inconveniences. You have to drive to pick up and drop off the keys which isn’t too bad but does add some inconvenience.

We loved the home and the location! The house was exactly as advertised! So charming and perfect for our family! The property managers, Chambers Realty, were AWESOME!! Highly recommend!

Reviewer Comments: the layout of the house was perfect for 2 couples.Some of the furniture was comfortable and others were tired and worn.We all agreed we would stay again if it weren't for the white dog hair everywhere under the surfaces. the throws were covered in it along with the furniture.

Perfect weekend get away

The area is a hidden gem of Highlands. So convenient to Main Street. Quick 10 minute walk to shops, but I would not walk it at night as it is too dark. The property was clean and just a perfect rental for a family. We brought our teenage daughter and her friends and the upstairs bedrooms were perfect for the four of them. Downside: they only gave us one key which was very inconvenient. Why wouldn't they have a code lock? Also, having to take your garbage to a dumpster was also ridiculous.

Welcomed getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we got to the house we were shocked it hadn’t been cleaned from previous guests. Obviously began our trip with disappointment. The agency sent a maid and we sat outside on porch waiting for her to clean the whole house. After complaining/asking, agency at least refunded our cleaning deposit. Negatives were ice maker didn’t work, both tvs upstairs didn’t work, the step up from gravel driveway to stair entry was steep from erosion and needs addressing. Description says walkable to town, but doesnt tell half of the walk is up a hill!! The amenities in the house were nice and welcoming. Kitchen well stocked, felt like owners used the house as well. Best part was the screened in porch, comfy, very private overlooking woods. Would stay again if we didn’t want to walk to town. Also be nicer to have a lock box on door for key instead of picking up/ off at the agency.

Reviewer Comments: The location of the house was okay - down a gravel road and it would definitely be quite a walk into town - especially after days spent hiking.The layout of the house is great and just as described. It was nice being in the trees.Where things fall short: the mattress badly need to be replaced. The mattress toppers are not enough! Who wants to go on vacation and not be able to sleep? Each and every bed was horrible.The house was not clean on arrival. Very dusty - obvious just by looking. The 1/2 bath toilet was dirty, the shower in the master had mold in the grout lines, there were crayons and other items left out on the tables in the master (from previous guests)? I think their idea of cleaning was changing the sheets (hopefully), putting out clean towels, and emptying the dishwasher (which was very hard to figure out how to start). The sofa in the main room needs to be replaced - very worn. I hope they spend my $35 non-refundable security deposit on a new coffee maker. The heat pad on it is completed rusted. The cabinets were sticky. I am not sure if it was the paint or just dirty. It would make a world of difference to have the cabinets refaced.

Each one has a 4 inch topper which after might #1 revealed lopsided old mattresses. Recliners in living room are also pretty worn. More spices in closet or everyday grocery would have been nice to see.

Great House but not Through VRBO

The property was wonderful. The house and the setting were beautiful. The screened in porch afforded us many enjoyable hours. However, even though the house is listed on VRBO, once you book it you are directed to a local Realty Company. VRBO then charges a service fee. The price on VRBO was not accurate. It was more expensive than listed. It would have been better had I booked through local real estate company that actually manages the property and saved the VRBO service fee.. The local real estate company was excellent to deal with.
