“Laikyns Lodge is an amazing home on a beautiful sprawling property. It is a beautiful, huge log home with quality everywhere. Amazing indoor and outdoor spaces. The warm indoor pool kept 5 kids (and their parents) busy. The walk from the pool to the outdoor hot tub was cold but well worth it. On clear nights, the fire pit is a great gathering spot. “When you first turn on to Phelps road to get to your cabin you see the scariest, trashiest junkyard to the right , that is quite large and off putting. It’s kinda creepy BUT once you do find your turn to head towards your cabin it’s very secluded and the perfect place for a quiet get away. “The Pros: It was a cute little cabin with everything we needed, supplied for us. The hot tub was a welcome activity after a day of hiking. The Cons: ANTS! We knew that there would be bugs back in the woods, but there were so many ants in the cabin. Once we bought ant traps and placed them around in the cabin, it helped. You really do need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get back to the cabins on the gravel road. Over all, it was a nice place to come home to after hiking all day.”
