The best of Up North!

  • Centrally located in the center of Benzie County. Situated across the street from the crystal clear Platte River. Includes river access with dock and bench to enjoy. Property is in the village of Honor, walk to grocery stores, restaurants and bars. Float down the river to Tipsy Canoe for a bite to eat and enjoy some Ice Cream with a short walk back. I also have bicycles, tubes, canoes, kayaks, fishing boats, pontoon boats, clear kayaks and clear SUP's available for rent.

Overall it would be a 4/5 experience-Host 5/5 was very responsive with messages and calls and was able to help in anyway they could- location 5/5 for where we wanted to visit being sleeping bear dunes and traverse city was in a good spot and stores/resturants being very close with the nearest beach about 6 minutes away- the house itself 3/5 this is where I bring the score down, the bathrooms were beat up, the hot tub was unavailable at the time we went, and the garage was a bit of a mess but the kitchen, main living room and all bedrooms were fine.

The photo shots of the house were a little misleading in that they made property better than in reality. The hot tub was not working. Inside is a bit worn. However, overall was fine and comfortable

We stayed here for a family vacation with 3 teens. The location was perfect to explore Frankfort, Glen Arbor, Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes and more. Beulah with Crystal lake is super close and beautiful. The house was awesome and had everything we needed and the host was available to answer all of our questions. The beds were super comfortable. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great stay

We had an excellent stay! The communication was awesome, host is very responsive and friendly, checking in and out was a breeze. We loved the fire pit in the backyard and took advantage of the free canoe rental offered by the host. This house provided instant vacation for us. Thank you!

Ski Trip at Crystal Mountain

Zelda was an amazing host and very responsive and accommodating. The property was extremely equipped and clean and her hot tub was awesome on a winter night.!

The location is great and our host was very nice but there were some issues.I would say that the house is in poor repair - a lot of small things: broken toilet seat, loose faucets, refrigerator door, drawers in the kitchen and bathroom that were sticky or just not right. I also assumed we would have central air conditioning and we had 2 mobile air conditioning units that were very loud and couldn't keep up. We tried to use fans to move the air around but it wasn't sufficient. I would say that the one unit in the master bedroom was very loud and creeky at night - bothersome. The beds were however clean and comfortable.

Our family had a great vacation visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes area with our 2 dogs. The yard gave us space. The house stayed cool and comfortable in the summer heat. We loved the front porch, too. The wifi was reliable. This location is conveniently located near grocery store as well as dining choices nearby. There were plenty of dishes and towels. We were able to cook on the grill. We loved our kayak trip. The owner gave us lots of helpful advice on activities.
