We had a fantastic stay over New Year with extended family. The house truly felt like a home from home. After a long drive, we were given a very warm welcome by Mairead, which immediately set the tone for the week.The house is extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean, and boasts the most spectacular views. We managed to fit in several outings, including a number of beautiful beaches, Dogs Bay and Gurteen in Roundstone, and Moyrus Beach, which is just a short drive from the house. Great wee coffee shop in Roundstone too. We also visited Clifden Castle, and the kids loved spending their Christmas money in Clifden town. A walk around Ballynahinch Castle was another highlight, followed by a lovely dinner in Glynsk House, only a few minutes away from the house.John and Mairead are wonderful hosts — thoughtful and attentive without being intrusive. They checked in on us during our stay and even left a crate of turf for the log burners, which was a much-appreciated touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this house for a relaxing and memorable stay.

What a home… the view, the space, the location are all stunning. John made the check in incredibly simple and was kind enough to drop by the next day to welcome us. If you’re looking for (somewhat) remote tranquility on a stunning Irish peninsula, stop scrolling. For the very reasonable price John charges, you won’t find better. I promise you! Clean, spacious, well equipped and PLENTY to do within a short drive, you have it all in this lovely home and area.

Was für ein wunderbarer Ort

Wir haben uns mit drei Generationen und 9 Familienmitgliedern sehr wohlgefühlt. Unsere Tochter sitzt im Rollstuhl. john hat extra für uns eine Rampe an die hintere Türe gebaut, so dass die beiden Stufen im Erdgeschoss kein Problem waren! Danke dafür! Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und geräumig. Die drei Badezimmer sind großartig, wenn man eine große Familie ist. Die Lage und tolle Aussicht sind erstklassig. Danke für diesen wundervollen Ort! Danke für das immer wieder höfliche Nachfragen nach unserem Wohlbefinden! Es waren 2 unvergesslich schöne Wochen.

Excellent !

John and his wife are absolutely charming people, the house is very large, clean and very functional. The location is ideal for a quiet stay and a visit to Connemara. The sunset over the water in the evening is splendid.

Stunning location

The location is unbeatable, the views of both the sea and mountains can’t be emphasised enough. We had great weather and were able to sit out each day and just enjoy the view and the peace and quiet. The hosts were so friendly and knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting information.

Exceptionnel

Ce logement est exceptionnel tant au niveau de la localisation que du logement en lui mème. Au bord de l eau, l accueil est chaleureux, l espace fonctionnel et impeccable. Les sites touristiques sont proches. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour sans manquer de rien.

Tres jolie maison dans un cadre privilégié

Nous avons passé trois nuits dans cette jolie maison parfaitement équipée et située dans un petit coin de nature preservée. Nous avons particulièrement appreciée la vue sur la mer et le cocooning au coin du poêle. Si nous en avons l'occasion nous reviendrons avec plaisir. John et son épouse sont charmants et accueillants. Sehr nette Vermieter!

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche. Der Empfang durch die Vermieter war herzlich. Das Haus ist geräumig und der Blick auf's Meer ist spektakulär! Das Mobiliar ist teilweise in die Jahre gekommen, trägt jedoch zum Charme des Hauses bei.

Vacation Stay

The house was spacious and a perfect view of the bay. The April weather was perfect to stay at this house. You needed the heat when you got up and the rest of the day was perfect. This location allowed us to travel and see places like the Aran Islands, and shop. I would stay here again.

Lovely home in the country

Our host greeted us upon arrival and did a thorough walk through with us to show us around and how to operate everything. The home heats with wood stoves and a boiler so she helped get everything started and warmed up. The bedrooms suited us perfectly - we had 4 adults and 5 kids age 10-15 and the set up worked great. The home is very private but easy to find.

Traumhafte Auszeit

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Glinsk Bay Holiday Rental in Connemara, Galway, and "perfect" doesn't even begin to describe it! The location is stunningly serene, with breathtaking views across the bay and the mountains as a picturesque backdrop. Every morning, we were greeted with the beauty of the landscape right outside the windows, reminding us we were in a truly magical place. The holiday home itself was cozy, charming, and beautifully maintained, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The house’s traditional Connemara charm paired with all the modern comforts made our stay incredibly comfortable and relaxing. From the warm interior to the lovely garden and surrounding stone walls, every detail added to the experience. The peacefulness of the bay and the surrounding countryside allowed us to disconnect from the usual hustle and bustle, while still having easy access to local amenities and the captivating sights of Connemara. This is truly a hidden gem, and we can't recommend it highly enough. If you're looking for a getaway where you can unwind and soak in Ireland's natural beauty, Glinsk Bay Holiday Rental is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!
