Disappointing
No attempt was made to welcome us or explain anything about the hotel or rooms. Room was spacious if rather run down and not exactly clean. I could not access TV channels on the TV just radio. The location is rather remote but as we were just staying overnight for a wedding reception elsewhere that was not an issue.

Very clean and looked after rooms. However, they are not hardly sound proof so very inconsiderate and very late night noisy neigbours disturbed us but no night staff on duty to complain to.

Lovely large room, nice and warm. Only negative said included breakfast, which from reviews was continental, but at 9am main part of hotel not open, had to leave.

As soon as I got there and received the keys to the room in which we were staying, and opened the door the smell was absolutely disgusting and foul, we also had a wet room which was awful paint off tiles no bath towels just hand towels. And not clean at all. we got there at 9.40 pm from 1am on the road and just wanted a bath or a decent shower, but just couldn’t stay there it was to bad with the smell and finding out this was a disabled room, I’m not disabled and wasn’t it wasn’t very clean very clean, i belt insulted that I wasn’t told about the room, I have a cleaning business and don’t know how they can possibly rent this room out, so I went to hand the keys back the staff was ignorant in helping me at all, didn’t see my problem with the room especially when cost nearly £70 and I’ve stayed in a lot cleaner rooms for this price, so I left and had to travel 2 1/2 hrs home as it was to late to get anywhere as it was past 10pm, I would never book with them again after this and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Hi Yvonne I am sorry you were not happy with your room.It was a standard double and a disabled room.Hence why it was a wet room.We were hosting a wedding that night so that was the only room we had left.I can assure you it was very clean. You were very aggressive and was shouting at staff,you also threw the keys at them and left. Sorry you were not happy. Kind regards Natalie

Adequate for a short stay
Warm, clean room but a bit sparse. No wardrobe just a rail and hangers that had obviously been left by previous guests. The bathroom was dated and needs a refurb. We requested a walk-in shower prior to our stay but this was ignored completely (ie not even told none available) but were informed on arrival that they dont have any! Comfy, clean bed but the bright green (emergency exit) light right over the bed was very disturbing (and maybe a little unnessary) considering there was another one right outside the door. Plus the emergency exit light in the bathroom seemed a bit bizzar! Just one more thing, we have stayed in the same room several months ago and reported a missing bulb in the wall light and it was still missing?! Good value for a couple of nights but wouldn't consider it comfortable enough for a longer stay.

The place needs some money spending on it ,the big one is no WiFi in the rooms and the fact you have virtually no phone signal you have no chance of working or watching anything.the accommodation is outside basic but clean sofa bed not good for sleeping on The pub/restaurant closes at 9 and with grill not working limited menu only positive food very good and staff also great

Very good value
The accommodation is around a courtyard with chalet type rooms. Room 1 has a ground floor with seating area, cupboard with ironing board and a bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. There is a DVD player also. Upstairs there is the sleeping area with a 4 poster bed. If you want to eat in the restaurant it is recommended to book as they get very busy. No breakfast but we’ve been told there is cafe in the garden centre that opens at 9.30. The WiFi isn’t fantastic in the rooms but it’s nice to get away sometimes

Great place. Nice big room with good bed. The receptionist let me keep my bike in the room which was nice (plenty of space) Would have given it a 5/5 but the only negative was that the shower was a bit weak. Certainly usable but a bit ‘low flow’

Propoerty was really good and ideal for our use. Expedia charge random extra person charges that have nothing to do with the hotel or cleaning - just profiteering from Expedia. Will sue the website to find hotels then phone them direct next time.

Breakfast included was one croissant, 150ml juice, 150g yogurt in the fridge. No jet bath, even it was advertised in suite. Last food order in restaurant 8:45. Very noisy and dissapointing. Left after the first night, booked two. Wont return

As stated on our site description, all rooms have a complimentary continental breakfast, this is FREE. You booked a superior maisonette room, this is not a jet bath room, our luxury rooms are jet bath rooms. Nowhere in your room description does is say it has jet suite. Food finishes at 8.45pm, as advertised. What time was you actually wanting to eat? we serve food for 9 hours a day.

Disappointed with the evening meal with the family. Very little on the menu left. Fridge not restocked for breakfast on second day. We booked there because we had stayed there before the service was good. Perhaps this was because are stay this time was over Christmas and new year. Staff very friendly.

Restaurant great, hotel....not so much
Restaurant is amazing, the food, service and value for money is great and we really enjoyed it. I understand that it was a cheap hotel at £60 a night. But I think the room left a lot to be desired. The bed is incredibly uncomfortable, both me and my partner struggled to get any sleep at all. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything next door. The “continental breakfast” given was waiting in the room, in a very loud light up red bull fridge and inside was a yogurt and a bottle of water, next to it was tea/coffee making facilities and one Croissant each and a bit of jam and butter...... Like I said the restaurant was great, we really enjoyed the food. However the the room...well I wouldn’t rush back.

Grim if you get certain rooms
Before I start the pub part was great and staff wonderful. However, my night here was frought with issues. First the room smelt. The shower didnt work - horrendous as it was one of the hottest days of the year and I was tired, achy and needed to be fresh for work meetings the next day. Tried to strip wash but the sink only had a cold tap so that was howwible, frqnkly. Breakfast is a croissant and yoghurt in the room and I don't eat croissants so grim. Fridge kept me awake and worst of all the bedding felt damp. Im a brittle asthmatic so the combination of a damp bed and cold water wash could potentially have killed me. I have stayed in other rooms here and I know they are not all bad, but my neighbours were also nearly in tears having similar problems so neither of us would ever book here again and take the risk, sorry.

Wedding night
We stayed 2 nights in the honeymoon suite and have to say was very disappointed at the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail, it could be a beautiful place to stay and it used to be as I stayed here some years ago that was why I chose it, such a shame, restaurant was nice staff really friendly just the room a let down.

Poor, dirty accommodation.
Poor accommodation, dirty beds and bedlinen. Very poor standard of cleanliness. Would not Recommend to families. Definitely not suitable for more than 2 people as sofa beds have mattresses that are nowhere near big enough for the frame and are very thin. Payment was taken at 11am in the morning despite check in being after 2. Breakfast is a croissant in plastic bag in three room with a small jam. Staff were very apologetic. But I certainly would not recommend or stay again.

The hotel room is great for two people. Fantastic king size bed on a separate mezzanine floor. The fold out sofa bed on the living room forever is less than a double and really uncomfortable. The mattress is very thin and lumpy. We mentioned this to the staff and she said, "yeah, none of them are very good", so they are aware of the problem. The rest of the stay was fine. Good was good on the restaurant. One thing to mention with the food actually which isn't clear in the hotel description, the breakfast is croissants and yogurt in the bedroom fridge, not in the restaurant, which didn't open until midday, after checkout This fine for us, just worth pointng out.

After driving over from Bulgaria to visit we were actually looking forward to staying here. Photos looking nice but didn't look like the room we were in. We were expecting basic but wow, this is basic. 1 chair for the occupants use, a rail to hang up clothes and a nice fridge which hummed all night and was lit up 24/7. Quite a gap under the door which allowed a steady breeze into the room. That would be ok on a warm summers night but NOT ideal for December. One of the reasons we booked the room was the availability of wifi, however, NO wifi. At all in the room and intermittent in the bar. Staff did inform us it was "hit and miss" but it shouldn't be advertised if it isn't available. We could have lived without wifi and used our mobiles but this accommodation is in a mobile dead spot with no signal on mobiles. Overall I'd say an ideal place for hen/stag night do's where you just crash after celebrating and don't care where you are but that's about all.
