“A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were in room 3 which had a challenging set of stairs, no lift due to nature of the historic building. Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities. A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park. Breakfast was first class value. “We recently stayed at Tempus and were genuinely impressed by the hotel itself. Unfortunately, our experience at The Orangery restaurant was far below the standard we expected. We arrived for our 7:45pm reservation and were initially seated directly beside the kitchen. Throughout service, chefs could be heard swearing loudly and frequently, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere and ultimately led us to request another table. “A lovely light and airy room with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed and plenty of clean towels. Staff were most welcoming and very helpful. Wonderful selection of goodies for breakfast. Fresh fruit every morning alongside a cooked breakfast and timings for breakfast most accommodating.”

“Beautiful view from bedrooms across to Bamburgh and the ocean. Scenic and easy drive to castle and fantastic beach. Convenient for driving across the Causeway to Lindisfarne Island. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast. Bright and airy restaurant with dinner service daily. Also, a twenty four hour cafe serving snacks and hot meals. Plenty of parking space. Easy to find.”

“The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds”
