Lakefront 1928 Log Cabin w/ Sauna, Docking, Fishing, Patio, Big Yard & Balcony

This is a genuine 1928 Sears log cabin built from a cabin kit - yes, a build your own cabin kit. The outside is incredibly preserved and the inside offers a perfect blend of preservation with a touch of modern efficiency. However, between the lake views, sauna, fishing, and meals on the patio, you'll hardly be inside.

Sauna - The sauna is a traditional dry sauna with rocks and an electric heater. It is a barrel design which is recommended for 2-4 people and can reach temperatures of around 150.

We also offer free private docking for up to 4 small/medium size boats and jet-skis just 100 yards from the mouth of the channel. Mooring whips are provided, but if north/northeast winds are ever predicted to approach 20MPH, boat owners will want to temporarily pull out or rent a guest slip at Sawmill.

Finally, we offer 24/7 complimentary gym access at our local gym just down the road (~2 miles).

This a genuine family run business (mom, dad and son) and a real family summer home.


Location:

The Cabin sits on a private peninusla once known as Torquatus Island. Don't Google it - it can't be found. Anyways, Torquatus Island ceased to exist sometime in the 80s when the late Bud McCarty constructed the island's first breakwall thereby turning the island into a peninsula. Then, in the 90s, my dad bought the log cabin next door to Bud's place. Fast forward to today, having pooled our funds to buy & relocate to Bud's former home, our family would now like to offer our historic log cabin for rent. We'll be your only neighbors on the "island", but we're pretty tame these days and promise not to bother you :)

The Space:
Outside:
- 160 ft of dock wall and three sets of mooring whips
- Mooring whips can accomodate 3 boats up to 23ft OR 2 boats up to 23ft and one boat up to 28ft
- 2-4 person barrel sauna with a traditional heater (not infrared)
- quality table and chairs with comfortable cushions

- a lounge/tanning chair
- open lots including a massive lakefront lot for various outdoor activities
- covered parking (one space)
- overflow parking - including for boats up to 25ft

Downstairs:
- fully equipped kitchen w/ Keurig

- living room (will include a full couch, love seat and armchair by the time of the first booking)

- bedroom with double bed & A/C
- 1-2 A/Cs per room

Upstairs:
- Bedroom with balcony and double bed & A/C
- Bedroom with one double bed, two twin beds and a new 8,000BTU A/C.

Other things to note:
This property directly borders the lake. The "wall "between the patio and the lake is about 18 inches high. Please ensure this property is appropriate for any children or drunken uncles in your party.

A/C - There are window units throughout the house including a unit in each bedroom. Two units are new in 2026. Upstairs bedrooms aslo have a fan. So, will you be cool enough? In my opinion, the downstairs will always be sufficiently cool and the upstairs bedrooms will be cool enough until you approach the 90s. Not gonna BS ya, on a 90 something degree day, it might be warm up there at night.

Woodburning stove: The woodburning stove is open from October 1st - May 1st with wood provided. The stove is locked and requires scanning a QR code and watching a 7 minute instructional video to unlock. The code is given throughout the instructional video. It's not the most entertaining clip on the net, but it was my best idea to stop the cabin from burning down.

NB: Boats up to 25ft can be parked on the property. Above 25ft, road dimensions would probably prohibit reaching the property.

NB: On rare occasions, owner reserves the right to utilize the far end of the dock if friends or family are around.
