Peaceful
We just spent last weekend at the lake cabin and we would recommend it. We live in the country and enjoy the solitude and quietness. The only sound we heard at the cabin were the geese (which I love). We kayaked, fished and paddleboarded. Took our 2 dogs and it was nice not to have to tie them up. Pretty cool to have the little lake on one side and the river on the other. Adam was a great host.

Relaxing
We had a wonderful time. Very quiet and relaxing. Wi-Fi worked fine. The 2 tv's in the living room areas worked just fine but could not get the tv in the bedroom to work. Overall it was a very enjoyable and relaxing time. Sure we will be going back again.

Guys Fishing Trip
Dad and sons enjoyed 5 day fishing trip. Fish were biting and time together was great. Cabin was very private (gated), modernly remodeled, clean, comfortable, relaxing and had everything we needed. Entire grounds of property well maintained (mowed with no tall grass shore to shore). Drive to Independence very short trip. Highly recommend for peace and quiet away from work and city life.

Loved the location!
We loved our stay in the Lake House. The photos were very accurate, and the whole place was nice and clean. We saw so many turtles and frogs in the pond and our daughter loved the paddle boat. It was also easy to use the dock on the Wapsi side to get our canoe in and out. It is a very peaceful, quiet setting but still close to the conveniences of town. We hope to return!

Very relaxing
We had a wonderful stay. It was private, quiet, and relaxing. The setting is beautiful. The house is comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. The house has splendid views on both sides and has multiple windows to enjoy the scenery. The one item that would have made the views better is if the windows had been cleaned.

Great stay! Nice, private property
My family (plus pup) has a great stay at this property. Everything was as pictured, and the cabin was very clean. We enjoyed the fishing and the kayaks for a week away.

Nice cabin in the woods
We were warm and cozy. Fairly good accomodations. Our only complaints are no extra paper products (Kleenex etc). The hand soap dispensers didn't work. I had a puppy that we had to take out after dark and it was hard to see the steps. The lock box thing was way too hard to use. I ended up leaving the keys in the lock and notifying the owner. The property was comfortable and clean but not a good place for small children. Great fishing camp, I'm sure.

Beautiful
It’s was freezing cold and snowy while we stayed there. It would be amazingly fun there in the summer, but it is absolutely peaceful sitting out in the deck while it was snowing watching a bald Eagle fly by. I will absolutely rent again!

Awesome get away!
We rented the lake house for some weekend fishing and were not disappointed! Peaceful and pretty location. Lake house was clean and comfortable. We had one day of rain, which was disappointing, but were able to stream the Iowa game. Owner was readily available when I had questions. Highly recommend!

Relaxing getaway
This house is a perfectly tranquil getaway. River on one side and lake on the other offer fishing and kayaking. We enjoyed visiting the small shops in town, but it was great to come back to a quiet retreat after wandering all day. The house was clean and well maintained with modern amenities/ appliances. Communication was very well. Check in was straightforward.

Amazing vacation

Weather was a big problem
Not the property's fault, but we had unseasonably cold and rainy weather, so we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked. You need nice weather to enjoy being by the small lake and the river. Inside the cabin was fine, but the furniture was not as comfortable as we would have liked. It would have been good to have a regular height table instead of the high countertop with stools for playing games during cold weather. It was clean, good beds. the drive into Independence took a little while just due to the country roads, and it was a pretty long trip to reach Waterloo area.

Absolutely perfect!
The property was well maintained and comfortable. Views of the river and lake no matter where you were. Fishing on the Wapsi was great; catch and release on the lake was fun. Great hosts...very responsive! Will definitely check this out again next year.

Wonderful stay!
We had a fantastic time staying at the lake house! The privacy of the lake was unprecedented. The house has seen a lot of memories, but provides very comfortable amenities on the inside and out. Everything we needed to enjoy the outdoors (firewood, picnic area, deck, dock, kayaks, etc) we’re all stocked and available. Loved the ribs and burgers we made on the smoker, all around fantastic weekend, dogs had a blast too!

Wonderful Lakehouse
This property was perfect for my family. We enjoyed fishing in the private lake on one side of the lake house and the river on the other. It was fantastic! Adam was a great host!

Great location
We wanted a cabin on a lake for easy access for ice fishing this year. With younger kids having the ability to set up and come and go as they wanted was perfect. Internet was spotty at times but was expected. We loved watching a wide collections of movies and enjoying some much needed family time.

Peaceful nature to escape from Chicago
Pet friendly lake house that offered a peaceful and quiet space to rest from the busy Chicago life. Super clean, well maintained and organized. It is the perfect place to enjoy your dog playing in the water, that was our main interest. We fish, enjoy the town and visit the Amish area nearby. Highly recommend this cabin.

Lake House Life!
Lake house living! We enjoyed having a river on one side and private pond on the other. We fished, walked, used the paddle boat, and relaxed around the fire pit! Also spent a day seeing the sights in Independence and surrounding area. Would recommend the train depot, the mill, and the F. L. Wright house in nearby Cedar Rock State Park.

Great private lake getaway
Great place for a weekend getaway. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The location is great with a private lake on one side and a river on the other. Plenty for everyone to do. We were able to fish and play outside with my toddler. Great place for all ages! It was a nice short trip for us and just what we needed!
