Very comfortable and clean rooms, great dinner in the dining room, helpful receptionists, and a very nice and helpful night watchman, Ben, making the place feel safe. Good to drive the car through the gates at night too, even though the Himeville and Underberg areas feel safe.”

Couple of tips: 1) Exit at Howick off N3 as the roads are paved, 2) Bring rain gear as it rained quite a bit when we were there, 3) Aim to arrive before sunset as it gets quite dark on the roads, 4) The kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m. and there aren’t too many options nearby. “I really enjoy the Lodge. Perfect for Self catering and they really pay attention to the little details. Home made delicious biscuits every night, setting up the fire and making sure the chalet is warm for your return. They also supply you with firewood and we were gifted an amazing bottle of wine when we left. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return”
