soggiorno non entusiasmante
ci occorreva un soggiorno di passaggio in un tour della scozia in macchina, quindi siamo arrivati alle 18 e siamo ripartiti la mattina dopo alle 8. all'arrivo (fuori faceva -4) la stanza era gelida e la ragazza della reception, non il massimo in quanto a simpatia ed accoglienza, ha semplicemente detto: ops, ero convinta che fosse stato acceso il riscaldamento e l'ha acceso in quel momento...risultato, abbiamo dormito in tre nel matrimoniale per far stare la bambina al caldo. camera un po' piccola, bagno minuscolo privo di riscaldamento, con lavandino talmente piccolo da essere inutilizzabile e abat-jour al posto della luce, non funzionante. a parte questo la camera non era poi così male, materassi comodi, biancheria pulita. al mattino colazione non memorabile, non lo riprenoterei anche perché la scelta è caduta su questo in quanto abbastanza centrale ma quella unica sera ha fatto troppo freddo per andare in giro (comunque non ci è sembrato un posto così entusiasmante). parcheggio non disponibile, si parcheggia gratuitamente per strada (ma solo fino alle 8 del mattino) o in parcheggi privati.

B & B in centro a Inverness
A parte la posizione in pieno centro di Inverness, l'hotel ha diverse criticità: a) impossibile parcheggiare nei paraggi b) minimo 2 piani senza ascensore, che per me sono diventati 3, il chè, avendo valigie, può diventare un problema; c) colazione modestissima in ambiente modestissimo. A favore, oltre alla posizione, un discreto comfort nelle stanze.

Enjoyed the continental breakfast. Easy access for the city night life. Only issue would be parking as street has only loading bays rather than parking, these are only available to park in after 6pm.

The bed sheets seemed to have used before.The heating couldn’t be turned off. The bed nearly fell apart and, finally, the lamp needed to be replaced. Some reviews are more positive, so, maybe we were the unfortunate ones. The boy at reception really tried hard to set things right. Couldn’t blame him.

Listen to the rest of the reviews! There was blood on all of the bedding. I don't know what people are doing in this hotel but it was very unsanitary. The quilt, cover and pillows had blood on it. On arrival I had to fix the shower and the shower was also mouldy. The staff and location are really good however but if you don't want to stay in bloody sheets this is not for you. I wish I read the rest of the reviews before booking. I also paid over £100 for this!

Got gloss paint on my jacket and luggage bag. There were wet paint signs in a couple of places but not explaining door frames were wet. Not happy

Small problem called stairs
The only problem is that the Waverley is above other spaces and unfortunately there is no lift which I found a little difficult as stairs are awkward for me being disabled apart from that it's a fantastic place to stay

The room smelled of urin, the window was not isolated in the slightest and the heater did not work, so the room was very cold. All in all not a good experience.

This property was absolutely disgusting. Many thing in the room were broken. There was water leaking into the bathroom. The bar across the street had the music blaring until 4 in the morning

Room was very basic. Open storage with 2 mixed hangers only No towels on arrival, none available when requested. TV did not work - no signal. Not cheap and not cheerful!

Recent experience
As soon as I walked in my room smelt strange and it was emanating from the carpet. The room was very simple. I checked my bed sheets and they looked clean but I couldn't get over the smell from the carpet. I had a closer luck with the torch on my phone & spotted a bed bug running along the carpet- I've had experience with bed bugs before so I knew what they looked like. They are an absolute nightmare to get rid of once you have them- so I immediately left the guest house and wandered around Inverness at midnight trying to find somewhere else to stay. I won't book here again and wouldn't recommend.

Do not stay here!
The employees smoke just outside the door so smokey inside. Carpeted steps entry dirty and needed vacuumed. Hotel was rough, unvacuumed carpet, duct tape on frayed seam. Room had missing woodwork, mildew on shower ceiling, no ventilation, very temperamental shower, difficult to get temp right. Room door had been recently repaired, with raw wood. Bathroom grout missing or dirty on floor and tile loose and cracked. No hot water in sink or drain stop. Overall it accomplished the purpose of shelter but WAY overpriced for the shabby condition of the place. I will not recommend, very disappointed.

Stairs to reception , room poky and only one curtain up . Only one towel.shelf for wardrobe in very very poor condition and dirty had to use chair for clothes , chair seat saggy and no room by the bed to get in breakfast basic with no staff available to request hot water people sitting smoking on door step when I returned in the evening felt intimidated entering . I am a 76 year old female and I only stayed one night More like a doss house than guest house

It is not a hotel but more of a hostel. I can say with confidence there were no bugs or mice. The hotel cleaning staff had a clean bed that was nicely made. The toilet was filthy, the shower broken and no toilet paper. The music blared until 2 am. We barely slept and did not leave the room to use the facilities in middle of the night due to fear. I made a complaint to the front staff to deaf ears. We did not stay both nights but left and had to take a train to Glasgow to get a room. We paid over 500 Sterling pounds for two nights. I strongly do not recommend.

The location was good, with an easy walk to the train station and various attractions. This is an older property with creaky floors and doors. It was clean enough and served a light breakfast. It doesn't have an elevator and we were on the third top floor, so that made getting our luggage up a task. The real problem for us was the noise. We arrived on a Saturday and our room was located on a side with an outdoor bar. Even with earplugs and closed windows it was extremely loud from midafternoon to 3 AM. For the next several days we moved to an interior room. It was better, no street noises, but seagulls intermittently.

Terrible
Rooms are not up to much. When we got room sheets were put on bed by staff and were still wet. Room was dirty and shower had no soap or towels. Nightclub goes on until 3am so don’t expect to get any sleep. We got upgrade to family room and was told we would need to pay extra only to find out we had already paid more for room through hotels.com 😡

Robert gave me an excellent recommendation for a restaurant and also called a taxi for me so I wouldn’t have to make a long-distance call. Much appreciated! But no one was at the desk at 22:30 & I didn’t remember which hallway of many led to my room—they need signs with directions (# such & such to # such & such this way).

On the good side, the location is close to the train and bus, which was perfect for our trip. There was excellent food nearby too, and interesting sights. We slept well due to travel exhaustion, and breakfast was nice. However, our weird little room smelled like sewer gas, something was definitely off with the drains and the smell was truly awful. Not the cleanest, the bathroom was the size of a closet, and I could feel every spring in my bed. I suppose if it hadn't smelled so bad (this is fixable and not everyone's experience I'm sure) it wouldn't have been too bad for a city hotel I booked at the last minute. Seemed pricey for the tiny room.

Good central location, but 10 mins away from paid parking. Everything, including breakfast is VERY basic. DO NOT accept Room 14 if offered. This room is directly above the laundry room which is on the second floor in a very old building. The floor of Rm.14 vibrated and the roar of machinery below went on until 11.05 pm. Sleeping before then was impossible. Also, the drain in the shower was partially blocked and the tray filled up, with muck coming up into the tray as the water struggled to drain away. Not very comfortable paddling in unidentified waste while trying to get clean.

Location was great, pubs and eateries close by, unable to park outside (like all the hotels in this location) but found a multi storey car park 5 mins walk away, slight issue with checking in but this was resolved straight away, room was warm and comfortable and perfect for our stay, with everything we needed for the night, unfortunately had a shared bathroom but it was clean and suited our needs. The corridors were slightly more difficult to work out after a few beers but thats definitely my fault as i navigated them just fine beforehand, overall we enjoyed our short stay, staff were friendly and helpful and we would visit again if we were in the area

Rooms are of decent size with big washrooms. cleanliness was maintained and the staff was super supportive and friendly. also, it is located very new to the railways station and bus station, so it was very convenient.
