The amenities were as described, nice to have the space and entertainment there at this remote spot with kids. Little ones didn’t have much special for them, but very comfortable to play and use the rare nice lawn in rural Idaho. The kitchen was well supplied and it was nice appliances. The grill was explained to have a requirement for cleaning after use, but I had to clean it so I could even use it. The requirement of returning all dishes to locations was understood, but for the seemingly expensive cleaning fee, it would have been nice to just start the dishwasher and leave.
We knew the fees before I booked, but it was a big part of the total cost for cleaning and owner fees on top of VRBO fee and taxes, when we felt we had to do a fair amount of cleaning ourselves according to the locations binder. It’s a marketing strategy, and we ultimately booked it. I gave 3 stars for cleanliness as it had some food around the edges of furniture and on comforters, and weak order of old food when we first arrived that dissipated shortly. The lawn sprinklers would start at 0500 and were placed near the house but not set correctly, so they would hit the house creating more than I’d expect noise and woke the kids up. There were explicit instructions not to change them, so I adjusted the head only. The groundskeeper came that day and apparently undid my fix, 2 of three nights were an abrupt wake up. I was hoping it was an elk rubbing it’s horns on the siding, but it wasn’t. Did see prong horns and elk in the yard.
All in all, a good stay and would recommend going here. It is a decently long drive to anything, so consider your travel plans if it’s day trips out. We spent a lot of time in Yellowstone and West Yellowstone, which was at least 30 scenic minutes away. Give it a try, we would consider going back.
