Nyumbani è un Skye cottage tradizionale al piano terra situata nel proprio involucro intorno giardini con vista bellissima Loch Harport sulla splendida costa occidentale dell'Isola di Skye. Nyumbani significa 'casa nostra', in swahili, e questo ben descrive questo affascinante casale, con la sua accogliente soggiorno / sala da pranzo con caminetto, divani in pelle in profondità, cucina di dimensioni familiari e 3 camere da letto dimensioni generose. C'è una bella veranda che fornisce una seconda zona lounge, con grande TV a schermo piatto e DVD. Le porte si aprono su giardini recintati che circondano la proprietà. Biancheria e asciugamani forniti.

We had difficulties locating the property and we were unable to reach the host and her caretaker via the phone numbers that were provided. Fortunately we were able to find the property after running back and forth the road. Once inside the property everything was fine. The property had proper heating and amenities that provided us with a comfortable stay. It was very spacious so we had our own space.

The house has wonderful views and is well located near Carbost and most things you would want to see. It is up a long, narrow road, better traveled for the first time during the day, but then most places up there are! The house was warmer than expected, but it could use some new blankets.

Un séjour inoubliable dans cette douillette maison. L arrivée des plus chaleureuse avec la musique et petite lumière ! Très confortable, bien équipée, jolie décoration cosy et des tableaux de l île de skye pour s immerger. La véranda incroyable, l impression d être seuls au monde. La vue sur le loch de la chambre et du salon est magnifique. Idéale pour visiter l île de skye et le soir se retrouver au chaud dans cette maison. Merci beaucoup !!!

the house was not ready for us untill after 5pm the towels were still in tumble tryer it could do with a new basin for sink in kitchen the taps for the bath tub did not work and with two children we could used it my opinion it lacks a womens touch the man who looks after the property was very nice but you could do better

Het was een normaal huis met enigszins gedateerd meubilair. Harde matrassen met vering. 2 nachten verbleven en ongeveer een half uur wandelen naar Carbost. Eind oktober is er niet veel meer te beleven, om uit eten te gaan, supermarkt in de buurt is er eigenlijk niet, maar het uitzicht was subliem! Uniek wakker worden! Mooi punt om het eiland verder te verkennen.

While the cottage is cute and has an amazing view, the photos are extremely dated as are some of the amenities. It's not a drive you would want to make in the dark, so go early and add an extra 20-25 minutes to any day trip you would like to take. The house is no longer alone on the hill as neighbors have encroached so if you are looking at that gorgeous photo of the isolated cottage (as I was) it's a disappointment. In addition, there are now 14 VERY steep stairs. It accommodates improved parking, but it would have been nice to know beforehand.I am certain there will be updates to the property and that will make it a five star booking. As it is, if the photos were current, we'd been able to make an informed choice and might have chosen a different location.

photo's of the listing are not accurate. The large steps on the entrance are replaced by a high steep stair. If I had known this, I would not have booked this place since stairs are an obstacle to me.Tough the property looks good on photo, and the rest of the photo's is correct, the bathroom needs some maintenanceThe cottage has a good heating and comfortable seats, kitchen is well equiped.The bedrooms are spacious and pleasant. But for the main bedroom, a king size or 2 1-persons beds would be al lot more comfortable and the room is large enough. In my opinion the matras is to hard.

Lovely little spot on top of the hill near the Talisker Distillery. Property was as described and there were plenty of sheep nearby so you'd often hear a random bleat in the moments of silence. Would return!

Very comfortable home with lots of room. Great for a base to explore Skye or to just relax. The house was very clean, but a little worn and the kitchen equipment a bit sparse. The Talisker distillery is close by and The Old Inn is definitely worth a visit for a pint and some food.

The house was very clean and very warm and dry! We did incur lots of rain & listening to it in the sunroom was quite nice. There were no "surprises" about the property which is good. Location was great. We were looking for something rural but not so far off the grid that we couldn't find anything. Would absolutely recommend a stay here.

Fabulous position, very spacious, comfortable. Its not luxury but thats clear from the listing and it's very good value compared to other properties for high season Skye. Keith the caretaker was great, helpful. A very lovely and easy stay.

We enjoyed our two night stay here! Walking distance to Talisker distillery, close drive to Fairy Pools. We used it as a base to see other sights on Skye - Quaraing, Kilt Rock and Falls, Old Man of Storr and Portree. The cottage was spacious and comfortable for our group of 5. Lovely views from the cottage as well!

Fantastic!

The house was very roomy and comfortable and had all the amenities we could ask for. It had more than enough room for our family of 5 and great views. Would love to have stayed here much longer than 2 nights.
