The chateau is absolutely beautiful- just as shown in the details. We had 13 friends together across mixed age groups and it worked really well. Stella was very responsive and helpful when we had questions

Wonderful stay at the Chateau. The weather was hot so the pool was well used ! The facilities were ideal for our family of 8 adults and 2 children from 3 generations.Martine, Stella and Phillips were very helpful during the week, helping us to organise a last-minute visit to a local Champagne house.The only slight negative ? We could have used a larger BBQ given the size of our group, however the kitchen is incredibly well equipped.Would definitely return in the future.

Perfect spot to celebrate my daughters 30th Birthday

Lovely home with plenty of large spaces for the family to congregate. We enjoyed the pool and the children enjoyed the trampoline. 16 total people and there was always a way to get some quiet if needed. Highly recommend

Beautiful Property

We all really enjoyed the time spend at the property. The organization was problem free. If i had any questions the property manager replied quickly and helped me with minor troubles like finding a taxi for a trip to a vineyard. Thank you very much for the possibility to spend a weekend at this beautiful house.

Even better than the pictures

Property was superb - even better than the pictures - we had a mixed family group to celebrate our 40th birthdays and it was so big and well maintained that we could do things together or separately throughout the week. Communication with Martine was easy and helpful. She was also very helpful throughout the covid delays.

Un séjour merveilleux au château d’Isle-sur-Marne

Nous avons célébré nos noces avec ma femme et nos deux familles dans le cadre idyllique du château d’Isle-sur-Marne. Le château, entièrement rénové, est situé à l’écart de la ville permettant de profiter du calme et du silence nécessaires à un bon repos. Nous avons profité des services traiteurs dispensés par le chef Denis Chatelet et sa femme se sont occupés royalement de nos repas et ont fait preuve d’une très grande gentillesse et disponibilité. L’intérieur du château était bien entendu irréprochable et le parc ainsi que la piscine très bien entretenus. En somme ce fut un séjour mémorable et extrêmement reposant. Merci aux propriétaires et à toute l’équipe du château pour ces merveilleux moments!

Absolutely stunning chateau in the middle of the French countryside

I could not fault our stay at the chateau. Everything was perfect. The photos you see are exactly what you get and the building itself is stunning. We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate a special birthday and we could easily have stayed longer.

Excellent castle and excellent service

The castle is even better than the description and the photos. Very spacious. Lots of light coming in. Pool is warm and well kept. Martine is an excellent host and took good care of us. Highly recommend it.

Spectacular!

The château is simply magnificent. A group of 16 of us spent four nights here in late September to celebrate my milestone birthday. The château was just breathtaking -- the building itself is stunning, and the rooms look exactly like the photos. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and they're all so nice, it was not difficult to divide them up among the group. There are several fireplaces, and we gathered around them each evening to share stories, play games, and sip wine. The outdoor setting and grounds are incredibly picturesque and peaceful. We awoke each morning to a chorus of birds and church bells, and enjoyed the pool, the outdoor seating areas, the grill, and even several runs along the nearby roads. We took hundreds of photos, with the gorgeous grounds, moat, and château itself providing an almost surreal backdrop. We also rented two vans/drivers and spent a day touring two champagne houses in/near Épernay. Martine is an amazing and gracious host, and was so helpful and responsive as I tried to plan and coordinate our time at the property. She recommended a local chef who prepared a family-style dinner for us one night, and a full service dinner another night. He and his wife were wonderful and the food delightful. I can't say enough good things about this property and the host. It was the perfect place to spend my birthday and create a cherished memory. We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful château and to have met Martine.

Marvelous Château

Due to the COVID we found this Château beautiful stylish and nicely decorated. For our family this was a very nice place to be be. With the pool nearby which was well on temperature. The garden was very big but lacked a floral touch. Good thing was that we had enough shade to relax. We were delighted that the chez of the restaurant nearby cooked us a perfect meal in a perfect ambiance...For another stay we recommend to bring along a fan and cushions for the seats outside..

Magical!

We absolutely loved this chateau! Our group was only made up of 6 people, so the space felt wonderfully expansive and very comfortable. The chateau is the perfect balance between historical period ambience and modern decor/conveniences. It was super clean when we arrived and there are plenty of sheets/pillows/towels/blankets for everyone. The kitchen is very well appointed - since we visited at the very beginning of autumn, it was perfect to prepare a roast chicken dinner, then enjoy it in the dining room, with the fireplaces lit. The gardens are beautiful and the swimming pool was very clean - and quite warm, considering it was the first week of October. Our objective was to have a home base from which to explore the champagne region - it’s 1 hour and 15 minutes south of either Reims or Épernay. If you’re looking for a combination-type experience of having a large party that can enjoy a luxurious space, whilst also having access to the Champagne region, it’s very easy to rent a car in Reims, then base your party at the chateau. You can then separately arrange a driver/small tour operator on 1 - 2 of the days so everyone can enjoy tastings across the region, particularly at the prolific small grower houses. Martine was always accessible via the Vrbo messaging feature and she was very helpful and efficient in her correspondence. She sends plenty of useful info ahead of your arrival, including the chef arrangements from the nearby restaurant, and she was so patient when we caused some confusion with the door locks, sending someone to the chateau very quickly! I would stay here again and again and I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone!

A wonderful holiday in a delightful large Chateau

Whatever you may think when you look at the photos, you will be more impressed when you arrive 😊 Martine is terrific – very welcoming, charming and really helpful - she answered the few queries we had by email very quickly & she is quite right to be very proud of their lovely house (we were very grateful for the lovely champagne in the fridge too!) The Chateau is really nicely renovated and decorated, the outlook is amazing on to the park at the back and the rooms (upstairs & downstairs) are generally large comfortable and not over the top. It’s somewhere you can relax and not worry about breaking old furniture or antiques! There were 10 of us in 2 families, so we used 6 bedrooms and the 5 bathrooms – some of the upstairs bedrooms ‘share’ en-suite bathrooms which are between the 2 rooms. For our families this was perfect, but don’t expect 8 bedrooms all to have a private en-suite. The downstairs bedroom has a separate bathroom. The main bedroom is amazing, it has a large en-suite with sauna and whirlpool bath, so the ‘hot tub’ isn’t under the stars, it is a bath in a bathroom – I guess it would be a bit cozy for more than 4 people! This room also has a walk-in wardrobe & the sauna. There are two dining rooms, it might be a challenge getting 16 around the main table, but for our 10 it was brilliant, we dined outside a couple of times. The pool is really nice, it warmed up during the week – the peace and tranquillity from the pool were delightful, the only sounds were the church tower clock, frogs in the moat and the occasional flapping of wings as a heron took off! (or a Frech air force jet!) There are a couple of supermarkets a few miles away, so stocking up was easy (nothing in the village next door). We were there for a relaxing family holiday, reading, eating, drinking, swimming, being together as families, playing badminton (we took our own) and cycling & walking around the grounds, it was perfect. We saw deer, a hare and heron in the park, plus dozens of frogs in the moat. The Champagne trail is a few miles away and we spent a day going around the region which is delightful, but didn’t realise that nearly everywhere closed for the bank holiday. Wifi is OK and at 4 hours from Calais, travelling was really easy. It's a very special place and we would love to go back - thank you Martine for letting us stay in your wonderfulChateau.
