“ Beware - read the details of places carefully before booking. let me start by saying I take partial responsibility for this nightmare by not reading the description more carefully. I expected rustic cabin but I didn’t see that it did not have electrics or running water. I didn’t expect big gaps in the wall boards that allowed you to look through the walls of the cabin. Which might not have been so bad had there not been swarms of mosquitos that attacked while we were looking the place over. It...

“My husband and I stayed at the cottage with our small dog. The surroundings were beautiful and quite peaceful. Our host was attentive to our needs, but not overbearing. We would definitely stay here again.”

“The house is comfortable, clean, and well stocked. Vrbo has this house not far from Bar Harbor, but it is actually a bit over an hour drive. We didn't mind the drive, but you should at least be aware. The house is, however, not far from Schoodic and Winter Harbor, which also allows you to experience much of the same hikes, water sports, etc. as Bar Harbor. ”
