“Historical authentic house with great modern amenities. The setting is beautiful just a shourt walk to the river and trails. The cafes are close by. The service from the staff is excellent. The breakfast is delicious and the cafe food is great.”

“Really enjoyed our time at Sherwood the last few nights. We had a 2 bed apartment next to the restaurant. The rooms are a little older, a bit quaint but very cosy. Beautiful view from the back windows across the lake. Stairs were really creaky and loud, not ideal when having to go downstairs to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Parking can get full in the early evening on Friday and Saturday night if there is an event on. Dinner at the Sherwood restaurant was amazing, recommend the Wagyu...

“We stayed here 16 years ago and it seems the furniture and fixtures & fittings were the same. Our L shape sofa had a stain. Couldn’t work out how to use the gas heater as it kept turning off. Comfortable stay and unbeatable lake side view. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer were very useful. ”

“Jan and Graeme were great hosts. Unfortunately, we missed the wine tasting on the first night, however were pleasantly surprised when we attended our second night. Great discussions and selection of wines. The room was very cosy and secure with everything we needed and the BBQ was great for what we needed. Indulged in a spa on site and again were impressed by the property. Would definitely go back. ”

“We loved our stay. Lovely grounds and close to many wineries. We rented bikes from Mandy and, on the bike path and small roads near the Homestay, visited four local vineyards for tasting and lunch. Just a caution, these generally need to be prebooked. A wonderful stay overall”
