The location was very convenient for the metro (Aksaray) which we didn't use, and for the T1 tram (Yusufpaşa stop) which we used daily and took us to all the key places in the city centre. I'd selected the hotel on the basis of its closeness (110m) to the destination stop of the HVL-1 transfer coach from the airport but, unfortunately, local works meant the coach stopped on the opposite side of the road which was less convenient with heavy luggage.
The hotel staff had limited English but were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, though not entirely to our English tastes. The balcony of our room on the top floor gave excellent views over the adjacent park and we enjoyed sitting out and watching the life below. Though the traffic on the adjacent road was ceaseless, the double-glazed door kept the noise outside. The room was quite cramped having a large chair which presumably provided an extra bed if required. Our bed was, made up as a double, was clean and comfortable. A security safe in the cupboard was useful for storing laptop, passports, money, etc.
We enjoyed our 3-night stay in Istanbul (prior to joining a cruise) and would not hesitate to re-book The Park Hotel if returning. It's clean, comfortable and very convenient.
