The facilities and location is beautiful, but the experience is marred by the greed of the resort. It can easily cost a family of four and extra $500 a day for food and activities.
We expected to be able to have our kids try the teen program the resort promotes, only to learn that it would cost us a $100 a day per child.
Fortunately, our reservation included the pools, as I understand some have to pay extra to use them.
Most classes and activities cost extra. I wanted to have the kids do a mountain bike clinic, which was advertised at $39 for the hour, but on getting there I found out you also had to rent the bike, helmet, oh, and insurance, so basically almost $200 for two kids to do an hour mountain bike clinic.
Want to rent a bike for a day? It will cost $60 or $70 per bike.
The restaurants and grocery store also have jacked up prices. A couple of ice cream cones will cost you about $15. And then, to top it all off, everything you charge you your room gets an additional 10% "service charge" on checkout, because I guess they can.
