We stayed at this apartment for three nights. The apartment itself was nice. There were a couple of snafus like half the closet doors fell off when we used them, but not a huge deal. The owner offered to fix them during our stay and did not fix them, but it did not matter to us. There was a very dirty duvet in the closet, but also there was other bedding to use.
The problem with this apartment currently is the surrounding area. The building is across the road from a major construction site. This project has been going on for awhile, per the Hoboken Police and neighboring businesses. Hoboken has restrictions on construction work: it must stop by a certain time at night, no work on weekends, etc. However, this project has permission from the City to work at all hours, on all days. Therefore, we had to listen to insanely loud construction noise right outside the windows all through the night on Thurs, and whenever we were at the apartment during the daytimes. Thankfully, no construction overnight Friday and Saturday. And when I say "insanely loud", it is not an exaggeration. Jackhammering, sawing through girders, clanging, whistles, beeps. I have videos of the commotion which I sent to the owner. He was defensive at first, but offered to refund unused nights if we found another place...but that was impossible.
This apt is not livable until the construction is over. I suggest that you call the City and ask when it is expected to be completed before you book this property.
